For years of fighting Pupa I haven't found a reliable way to dodge his "target locked" attack.

Very easy on any pupa just wait till he fires and roll other side or lay down after he lockes You you should never roll when he thinks you are going or this will happen

I usually just hide in the corner of the doorway behind the Pupa in this video and fight it that way
