@lavenderllamamusic28 күн бұрын
@@FNTM2k3 yeah tbh, they're huge within electronic music, but outside of that, still relatively outside of the mainstream. They're one of those artists that are in the "if you know, you know" category as i call it lol A lot of my metalhead friends actually regard Justice, Daft Punk, and Aphex Twin as the few electronic acts they listen to. Sometimes deadmau5 too, but more so the former three
@StorymakerDudeАй бұрын
Sometimes I’d argue Justice is better than Daft Punk. Where Daft Punk looked to the past for their music, Justice kept their faces forward to the future, and were never afraid to push the boundaries of their sound, all while staying Justice. I love Daft Punk as well, since they pioneered one of my favorite genres and crafted timeless classics time after time, but Justice does something otherworldly that I hear with every single one of their songs that I just don’t get with Daft Punk. TL;DR, I love Justice.

I completely agree with your point about Justice expanding my musical horizons. Before Justice, all I had ever really listened to was the rock that made it to the radio. Justice hooked me with their rock sound and they were the first band I ever really dug into, I listened to all their albums, Planisphere, the whole lot. From them, I ended up getting into Daft Punk and all sorts of other electronic music. I have them to thank for listening to as much music as I do! I love all their eras, but Woman Worldwide is my favorite, and one of my fav albums of all time. Hoping we get a good re-release of IRIS: A SPACE OPERA someday! There's probably a whole video someone could make about that movie, too. I felt like it was Justice finally making the disco opera they'd been wanting to all along. As a huge Daft Punk fan who got into Justice a year after discovering Daft Punk, THANK YOU for this video! Love to see/hear people talking about these artists. I never got to see Alive 2007 or Justice's first tour since i was too young, but i finally saw Justice during this Hyperdrama tour and it was incredible! Prior to those two, i was heavily into pop-punk and rock music as a whole. So hearing tracks like Rollin and Scratchin + Waters of Nazareth made for such a smooth transition into the genre. The one thing I feel you could've mentioned here to also highlight Justice's rock sound and influence would've been their first two live albums! A Cross the Universe feels so much like a metal/punk electronic show, while Access All Arenas feels like an epic progressive rock / electronic love letter. They absolutely nailed it with those. You can feel just how electric it is, although it seems you _definitely_ had to be there to witness it in person to get the full effect of that
