Dude, your channel has been so pivotal in my music production journey. So many KZbinrs just explain production as "set these knobs to these values and it makes the sound." You, on the other hand, actually explain concepts to make the technique reproducible in other contexts. I also love your emphasis on techniques that lead to "discovery," like mapping controls to physical devices and playing with knobs while recording. Keep it up!

Excellent idea, Oscar. Thank you. Soloing with synthesizers usually sounds tame, or even lame. I would never dare to let go in this way at the keyboard but you just showed a way through that anxiety to a fun and frankly wild way forward.

Sounds good, I would put a vocoder on your voice, following the melodic line.

absolutely love this video Oscar, thanks again for providing us with so much forward thinking content and being vulnerable with your music making process. I was just thinking about how it would be sweet if we heard more solos in electronic music like back in the old rock and roll days!

Don't forget you can also record the MIDI to another MIDI track in Ableton, so you could perform the note length and appreciators, and then do a separate run where you perform changes to the synth and/or effects while it runs the same MIDI data to your solo.

I love the groove and atmosphere of the whole track with the synth solo

Every time you say 'forgeting we are good' I would repeat just that fraise twice each time so that it book ends the rest of the lyrics.

Could you please do a video on how to remix a track Oscar, how to break down the individual components, iv searched your channel and can't find anything. And I like your explanation methods better than anyone else on here 😁quick edit, I'm going to ask my other half if she can get me one of your courses for my birthday in August 👌🏼
@dani4ever3 ай бұрын
That's a nice idea. That can be helpful beyond that. I'm very far from concerning with remixing my own tracks. But the idea of a remix is not that different than what you might need to do on a track.

@@dani4everI know there's STEMS websites but I'm not convinced that's the best way... I hope Oscar sees this fingers crossed 🤞🏻

The second way is to work out all the individual parts and sound design them your self and if there's a vocal finding just the acapella. Personally if I was just starting out I would learn how to execute a song of my own before trying to make anyone else's sound better because knowing how to structure a song is very important.

It certainly has potential. I think it might help if you practice being more cognizant of your breathing while signing. Also record and play back your vocals clean a lot of times. I think the mid range is a little too heavy in the mix. More variation in dynamics on your synth will help. My 2c Keep it coming, Oscar!

I have a track on my page called Audio 12 where I used a similar method and it works. The solo kicks in half way through. I could of repeated the idea but I don't think it would of had the same impact.
@pabloqueroldelclaux863 ай бұрын
Since you asked for opinion on the draft idea, i feel like the vocals are way too busy on top of the other elements. I usually like much more simplistic approach to adding a layer of vocals in an electronic context. in any case, thanks for this sharing this technique! very interesting :)

Something I did in a track was use Ableton's MIDI Scale to lock the scale so I could just jam by hitting the cursor up and down while recording and then extracting the best bits. I've used this as an outro on a track and it sounds like I am vibing on the keyboard when in fact I am straight up cheating. I've also done this as an intro and locked the end as a repeating loop to feed through the track. I liked what you are doing you should finish it.
