Hey I really want to thank you, this introduced me to hollow knight and ultimately led to me buying it. I’ve had it for about a month (it might be a little less than a month to be honest but it’s around that amount of time) and I’ve almost finished it which is completely unheard of for me, I love it so much that I play for hours without noticing. Again thank you because it ended up being one of my all time favorite games just 2 days after I bought it. I’ve already made my own necklace of ghost/the knight and my mother is going to make me plushies as a gift, I think I’m getting hornet first.

The most logical explanation is the Pale King pumped the Hollow Knight full of void, thinking that would strengthen its ability to hold the radiance. We know the growth didn't happen directly from absorbing the radiance, because the Knight in the Hollow Knight ending remains the same size. It couldn't have been the infection taking hold, because the Pure Vessel is the untainted version and it's just as tall. It wasn't always like this, because it's the same size as the Knight in the flashback.
