We often say that our life feels like being retired in the Philippines. We live slow, and with a meaningful purpose. It got us thinking about the things that you bring with you when you choose to live in the province. The most important thing to bring, could be the skills and expertise that you learned in your life. It could bring real value to the community that you assimilate into to and give you a valuable purpose too.
Check out the new Halika Gelato shop and the insane Hydroponic farm setup that has just arrived on the isla.

How I wish I can visit Siargao island to experience the beauty of the beaches and nature. I'm a Filipino but I've never been to any places Eight Miles from Home Family have been to. I envy so much, haha.

I really enjoyed this. Its really a win win situation in the Philippines. The Philippines government makes it super easy for foreigners (xpats) to live in the Philippines. In return, we bring our money and skills that benefits the country. No other Asian country makes it this easy to live permanently like the Philippines.

I resonated with your experience of adjusting to island life after your UK trip. For me, it's the opposite. Having traveled around Asia myself, including the Philippines, the jet lag and longing for vibrant culture hit me hard as soon as I step back into the UK. Also, your efforts to spot local wildlife are commendable. It's great to watch you explore and help preserve these natural habitats. Looking forward to more of your adventures!

Thanks for sharing. Your right you have to have a hobby after you retire. My dad gave up kept saying why I'm retired and it killed him. Over 2 yrs he's been gone now. But he shut down in other ways before passing. Dementia and many other health issues. He was 78. Way too young. His father kept busy til the last few years of his life doing hobbies and he lived for 95 yrs. On another note remember dogs can't eat wheat, corn, spy, grapes, onions, and garlic. It will make them sick and corn raises their body temperature causing them to itch like crazy. Love the lettuce place. That's so amazing. I get excited when I find places like that too and I'm 47. So they're organic. Cool beans. Thanks again for sharing .

Continue what you guys are doing. Haters will always be haters. They bring their negativity to everything in their life. I love your videos and the positivity you have done to the island is appreciated. Thank you for helping those affected by Odetter, for broadcasting and drive the funding to clean up plastics in the island. You guys are amazing. You actually do something as opposed to people here that are pure trolls.

She's inside most of the time or just playing with the house dogs on the beach or the lawn, so she never really is in the situation where she's meeting strangers in HER territory. When she's out and about, she's not in her territory, so she's not territorial.

You can grow your own veggies and your salad bar your garden. I live in chignon and I have a good sized balcony where I can plant in pots beautiful flowers and two tomato plants, come august or septi can harvest 12-25 ripe tomatoes. You are lucky because you have a large yard to plant almost everything and there is no winter there to interfere with your planting, it’s planting season there throughout the year.

The reason why it is hard to spot those animals in Siargao now is that, the locals took down all trees and in place, planted COCONUT for their livelihood. So , yeah. But that Hornbill (Kalaw) is endemic to the Sierra Madre Mountain range... it extends all the way to our home here in Rizal (Region 4) down to there in Mindanao!!!!
