Hi Mr Ballen. I'm in jail right now and just wanted to let you know that your videos have helped me a lot in getting through this tough period of my life. I've been using the opportunity at my rehabilitation program that I'm attending here to watch your videos, and I really enjoyed them a lot. I've been sent in here for trespassing, breaking and enter, theft, vandalism, assault and arson. Your videos have helped me mentally, emotionally, and have provided me this special feeling of peace and, infact, they have helped with my progress in rehab a lot. Thank you once again, and I'll be looking forward to more of your videos. Oh, and before I go, I forgot to mention, the victim was of course, none other than the infamous, Like Button. Anyways cheers good sir, and keep those videos coming.

I visited this town in 2004 with 3 other guys. I'm a complete skeptic about everything paranormal (except maybe alien life visiting Earth). Well, it's more accurate to say I used to be a complete skeptic. We didn't go too close to the stone, but we did go through the cemetery. I don't know what it was, but in that cemetery, there was something that invoked pure terror in every one of us, all at the same time. We didn't see or hear anything. We just had a sudden primal fear, greatly surprising any fear any of us had ever known -- and we were all military guys, and none of us had ever been so terrified, especially since none of us heard or saw anything to cause it. To say we departed the area immediately would be an understatement. That night drinking our terror away and meeting the locals we found out that the witch's headstone is long gone, and that we probably stepped on her grave. And that is it. Never again will I go to a place said to be haunted. I'm still a skeptic, but something wasn't right in that cemetery in that little abandoned town.

Dear Mr. Ballen, Great story, as per usual. I thought you should know, I used to listen to a bunch of special operations and law enforcement podcast, but then I saw your episode on Shawn Ryan when it first aired...I haven't been back to any of those podcast since. I have binged every KZbin video you have, and am now halfway through your podcast. I will then move on to your medical mysteries podcast. Thank you for all that you, I even got my wife and kids hooked on these 🤣 You have made them much more alert (paranoid) than they initially were, but this is a good thing. I don't have a reddit, but there are shows I think you would love to get stories from and especially paranormal. I love your paranormal stuff, but noticed you dont have a podcast with paranormal stories, and don't post many of those kinds of stories on your KZbin. The shows are all true stories, and they are: - Blumhouse Television's The Cabin In The Woods - American Monster - Evil Lives Here (Warning:This one can be pretty brutal) - Signs of a Psychopath(Also very brutal, its made by the same producers that made Evil Lives Here) - The Real Murders On Elm Street - Born Evil: The Serial Killer and The Savior - Out There: Crimes of the Paranormal (Highly suggest this, as it tells true stories involving law enforcement encounters with the paranormal - John Carpenter's Suburban Screams - Evil Lives Here: Shadows of Death - Married to Evil again, thanks for all that you do, and we're all looking forward to another great episode.

I'm a retired cop. I went to a house once for a, "check wellbeing", call. Evidently, out of state family members were not able to call any family members in the subject house. When I arrived, I used all the standard means to contact the people inside. Things like call everyone inside, announce loudly who I was and why I was here. Nothing worked so I looked for an unsecured entry point. I found a window on the second floor I could enter. Back up arrived so I entered. After regaining my feet inside and brushing off and re-arranging my uniform, I'd fallen on a defunct rose bush (ow) I searched the house and found the entire family unconscious in the living room. In the middle of the room was a bowl containing various and colorful local mushrooms, some scattered on the floor. This was Colorado. They all recovered. There were no life-threatening species in the bowl. These people were a newly emigrating Chinese family from some big city and didn't know the rules of the forest. The local Hmong and Vietnamese certainly knew better.

Shhhhh! lol 🤫😉 I figured Enrique made it when we were hearing his experience. Tricked again! It must've been assumed by Enrique's party & made sense to them, so it made it into the narrative. There's got to be some stories that just have gaps (for this reason), but to move forward in the narrative, parts are 'assumed' using whatever information is available.

@mysticfellow98432 ай бұрын
@jasonvoorhees5640 Honestly, that isn't a bad theory. It's just hard to believe that this dude vanished out of thin air. It would be helpful to know the backgrounds of each person and what their motives were. The only hiccup with that theory though is 1) his body was never discovered (something that I don't think an average person could be capable of dissolving a body and/or hiding it that well) and 2) they apparently continued to search for him long after he went missing. There's not much info on this case so a lot of it could just be speculative.
@mysticfellow98432 ай бұрын
@jasonvoorhees5640 Well, it is possible he could have been killed by some mysterious cult, albeit farfetched. This does happen and has happened many times before like with Mark Kilroy. There's just not enough information about the people involved and little is substantiated.

Nowadays a week of searching may not be enough - Jay Slater was not found until the 27th day of searching a Tenerife village with a significant amount the islands force plus internet wannabe investigators - the Spanish Police extended the search because of significant global attention which could have harmed the islands main economy. - back then was there such attention /bribery? I’m still a big fan mr ballen but sometimes “witchcraft” can be misadventure - similar to Jay Slater where murder was suspected - in then end poor judgement in a tricky mountainous location - keep up the great work!

I'm SO jealous of all of you lucky enough to go! Hopefully one day he'll come down under on tour. I just told my husband if he ever goes international but doesn't come to New Zealand but goes to Aussie - we are going to Aussie just to see him live!

Im from spain and when i was a kid i went to an abandoned village in tarragona too (tarragona is the province of catalonia where la mussara is found). The village i went to is called marmellar and has some dark stories too and it looks so similar to la mussara. In catalonia we dont have abandoned villages usualy and in tarragona you can find these 2, pretty interesting. Search it up, the story of marmellar is really interesting :)

This has got to be the very best story I have ever heard of yours, John. I'm obsessed with this video.

the thing is with these "haunted" places, there doesn't need to be anything supernatural going on for them to be dangerous. sometimes stories will get people to do evil things, and sometimes the actions of evil people will be the foundation of stories.

@jasonvoorhees5640 possible, but not what i was getting at. i was more saying that stories have, and regardless of if they started because of something that really happened or not, some people will get sucked into them and believe them to the point where it can become unhealthy. a person that whole heartedly believes that somewhere is cursed might think that certain things need to happen to keep the curse from spreading, or to keep whatever evil is causing the curse happy. a few of those people might even go as far as to believe that they are somehow that evil, or possessed by it. people like that are capable of doing some very bad things. there are definitely people like that. one thing that i've thought thought of for a long time, but obviously can't prove, is Jukai forest at the base of Mt.Fuji. people commonly go there to do 1 thing. but it's also possible that 1 or more people go there, or even live near or in the forest, and uummmm help those people do what they went there for. also, there's people that go there just to walk the trail and show their respects, and it's definitely possible that some of those "helpers" have helped them do something they didn't go there to do. basically stories have power, and some people are very easily influenced and might do things that fall in line with a story. sorry, i had to change soooo many things in what i originally wrote for youtube to not instantly delete this, so it's basically the lowest quality explanation possible lol

So if the missing guy didn't tell anyone about him seeing a dark figure on the window after the fog had part. How did they know what he saw in that window?
