Well put, as always, my dear Einzelgänger. We may travel solo, but I like to envision our minds as interconnected nodes in the particular consciousness network we inhabit. You resonate so well. In other words, I find it very comforting to have you as a fellow traveller in my life. May your journey this year be full of light!

The fire circle from a whirling torch; I've been thinking about this quite a bit over the past few weeks but in a different way. A long exposure on a camera can capture a light source as a trail as it moves. The light may start moving from left to right, leaving a trail across time. Some beautiful photographs deliberately benefit from this concept in a genre known as "light painting". Some time ago, I spent a few years studying photographic principles in depth when I first discovered the use of this phenomena. Recently, I had been watching interviews & reading articles relating to quantum physics, which discussed the stream of time as a singular event when analysed from a non-newtonian perspective. In other words, time and distance (space-time) is not a dynamic phenomena, but a static one in the quantum world. It's a very confusing principle that I still struggle with at the technical end. Ultimately, I likened it to the light-painting principle which results in a still image. We aren't looking at the past or slightly-more recent past as the camera captures the event. We are simply looking at the event in a two-dimensional form. The camera views this event from a static, two-dimensional perspective, and yet it reveals the truth of time in a perspective we can understand. Now you mention the degrees of meditation that people perform in order to simplify their mind; to a single-point state, as it were. I transposed this concept to that of the camera, and... ...SNAP!

Bro, you blew my mind. While I have understood the concept in my mind, your visualization & analogy are spectacular.

A really good book from the early 70s. by Robert M Pirsig is... "Zen, and the art of motorcycle maintenance". I AM a keen biker so I read it in the early 70s. No need to be a biker to "get it", it is a great book to explain how he related bike maintenance to Zen Buddhism, and viva versa. Highly recommended.🙏

Its not when you seek it, its when you chase it you loose it. Chasing is kind of attachment and pandering, unlike seeking which is a balanced approach

My conspiracy is that the matrix never wants me to have any sort of satisfaction, accomplishment, catharsis, or feeling rewarded in anyway and will do whatever to mess with me. Either twist my internal brain wiring so Im numb/depressed when I get something I want or not getting what I want and desire when I would feel satisfied with it. When something I want finally happens I’m too understimulated and emotionless and mentally distracted to feel validated and have emotional catharsis in the moment (which is something that happens a lot and I don’t know why), and I feel like I’m the only one that goes through it, because in the real world in real life around me, I see people get what they want all the time and field rewarded and cathartic

How does one integrate these beliefs without actually losing the strength to strive for actually meaningful and useful goals. Because you could twist this view into nihilistic apathy and just not bothering to do anything, even objectively good things.
