Used to do nights and was lucky the close i live in was very quiet, now retired and it is as loud as hell with kids,lawn mowers , dogs, deliveries every 15 minutes etc, Neighbours are now either retired (So have to use strimmers at 0800!) or "Working" from home so have to have grocery deliveries at 0730 on a Saturday morning. (Wankers) House is now up for sale and i will be moving to the country side ASAP!

When I used to do night shifts back in the 1980s, I had modified my doorbell so I could switch it off, and had a do not disturb note for the door. But my 'phone number in Plymouth used to be the same as an AA helpline number in Exeter. All day I would get stupid calls about the best route to such and such a place. Callers got stroppy when I told them they had the wrong number, and demanded that I somehow put them through. I had to get BT to change my number.

I feel your pain I think most nightshift workers can relate to this when you’re on dayshift and then go onto nightshift it’s a nightmare everything is lovely and quiet during the day shifts when you get home nothing is happening everybody is quiet neighbours are quiet as soon as you put your head to the pillow on a night shift after you finished in the morning everybody wants to wake up and model own or do some DIY

Pro-tip: If you have to sleep in the day get a Bose speaker and hook it up to a 10 hour KZbin video on Rain or Waterfall. The white noise totally kills any sudden noises outside that can wake you. Just make sure you don't drink loads a few hours before and you should sleep like the dead 😉
