$300-500 is what I'd pay for that work... I had a similar dent and a van pulled up to me in a Home Depot parking lot where a guy said he could do it for $200, he had all of his tools with him. I said yes and watched him take out my dent to about 98% in about 15 minutes. Worth ever second, yes I tipped him.

In the old days, the workers would do their best to pull the metal out and then fill in with lead. Later, they used some sort of filler that was not metal, hence lighter. It would make the body part look better, but would compromise its ability to absorb force in a collision. This work is really first class.
@Shornandkenny Жыл бұрын
Actually, they still do it like that minus the lead unless it's minor enough to do paintless lol. Lead didn't hold up better in a collision, sorry. Lead is softer than bondo
@SeanPat1001 Жыл бұрын
@@Shornandkenny I was a little vague there. Neither lead nor Bondo will restore the full strength of the metal. Some advantages of Bondo are that is lighter, easier to work with, and not a heavy metal poison. However, I have seen repairs done with Bondo sag after several years.

@DentBaron Жыл бұрын
Manufacturer’s bake the paint on at high temperature in the factory, The chemical make up of the paint, the process of applying each coat of paint? I’m not 100% certain. I know some manufacturers have a higher quality of paint than others. For example BMW clear is designed to be scratch resistant while mopar tends to crack paint easily due to the sealer being too thick under the paint.

In NYC in the 1980’s the Gypsies would want to fix the dents in my car by drilling holes in the dents and using a Slap-hammer.
