I had to show my wife this one. She didn't seem so impressed, but I sure was! On a side note, this would have been pretty cool on our back yard, but it wouldn't have matched the neighbor's side yard with the regular white vinyl, so I'll have to admire yours.

Yes you are right that is a crazy fence.Looks nice you all did a nice job !!!!

You didn't show it very well, but did you route a channel in the top of the 'ribbed rail' for the 2' panels to slide into?
@SWiFence9 ай бұрын
We ran the rail through a table saw, cutting out the 7/8” channel using a fine-tooth blade.

I know relatively nothing about any of this but you do a good job of keeping it entertaining while teaching. I appreciate that man. Who knows, maybe I'll be able to fix my sister's fence this summer after a few more of these. Lol. I'm not kidding. 😅

For sure you can! 💪🏻

I kind of like corrugated fences, what you guys did with the vinyl absolutely changes that to beautiful finished product/system work of art type of thing. I say more videos revealing this Arthur fellow that works for SWI.

looks good to me, I put a little painters tape on my saw guide if im ever worried about scratching whatever im cutting

I find using a five in one tool or paint scraper to get that metal into the rail. Instead of banging.

@ 1:26, is that crushed limestone? It looks like concrete. Just curious.

Concrete. 👍🏻

I always wondered on these bottom rails how does rain water get out? And now that you have Steel roofing with cut edges, I'm really concerned about how the water gets out. Does it just fill up the channel on the bottom rail and then drain into the post? I didn't see any weep holes any where on the bottom rail but then I guess the top and bottom rail on these are the same.
@SWiFence7 ай бұрын
You answered your question within your question. 👍🏻 Yes, water just drains into the post. It will weep out.

I'd be worried about that tin popping out of the tracks and rails in a high wind. That stuff can bend and warp pretty easy. I really like the look and the idea behind it though. I'd just be a little scared to put it up out here next door in Idaho.

Do you guys have a process for bidding mow curbs? They take more time to set up and level out than what some would expect. I’ve turned down jobs as a sub because there just wasn’t enough labor in it. Love the videos. Keep up the great work
@SWiFence9 ай бұрын
Not really a system just a good idea of how long it takes our crews based on the circumstances. My suggestion is to sub it out if you can.

I never thought of using corrugated metal for fencing. Worth considering. Especially in wildfire zones. Vinyl should not be used in town anymore (in terms of insurance coverage and fire hazard).
@jacknagleconstruction9 ай бұрын
just throw some painter's tape on the underside of the plate for the circular saw and it won't scratch the material you're cutting

Man o man! I’d hate to see that corrugated tin get damaged/ dented. Ouch!

I absolutely hate 100% closed-off fences - I seriously hope this house isn't in part of the country with severe summer & winter storms - the wind will destroy that fence.
@SWiFence8 ай бұрын
Well.... we actually get a ton of wind here. But no worries, we engineer for it. 👍🏻
