I did a low level run to be summoned against Godrick with his weapons. After seeing the ways to make things easier, the game started to feel waaay easier than I thought. However, I’m also seeing the ways we tend to make it harder. Draconic Tree Sentinel at level 40 with a +3 Lordsworn great sword was rough (found the Guts sword detrimental speed wise). Shade Godfrey is hell because every time I Rune Arc before his fight the frame rate dies for some reason.

New idea for eldenring boss. every 20 second the boss snaps his finger and suddenly the player can only see a flashback on the screen for 10 seconds, while the actual fight still continues and he has to defend himself blindly.

Soulsborne games are the rare type where even if you suck and rage, you can still have fun and appreciation after the salt wears off. I'm still a total scrub, even after finishing all the other Soulsborne games I could get on PS4. My awakening to some forbidden techs was literally remembering I can two hand my big sword, try a smaller shield for parries and do jumping attacks. Luckily upon returning to ER and finding some dungeons by wandering around, I could see my experience paying off. Can't wait for this confidence to be dashed 😅

You can grind it out relatively quickly in certain Souls games like Bloodborne or Elden Ring, especially toward the latter half. Taking out bosses or mini-bosses when you're under-leveled and under-geared is genuinely impressive.
