There is 1 specific point at which waiting through all that crap is worth it. That is when you have a trap card that obliterates their entire field. i remember one of the first games of hearthstone i had ever played. i'd lost about 5 games, they were all really drawn out as well. no way i could win but they didnt want me to die too quickly. i decided ill put some effort in and make a deck and I really did put some effort in and made a really good deck considering my skill and options. First game with my new deck im feeling pretty confident, I quickly get a lead and have total control, im still on 30hp they have 10, i could finish them off but nah, NOW IT'S MY TURN TO MAKE MY ENEMY SUFFER. anyway i slowly get my cards chipped away as i kept refusing to finish the game. the problem was my deck is useless at higher mana. quickly the tables had turned, i watched as i could do nothing. my first chance at victory ruined by my own arrogance. i shall never forget.

@Torthrodhel Жыл бұрын
That's why I used to prefer making redundancy based decks over combo based decks, back when I played. Sure I'd have a few neat combinations in there maybe but never anything I needed the last turn to build up to... always just more of the stuff I was already doing. Most people would run toolboxes-enough against a few copies of any one type of thing. Never quite enough to deal with proper relentlessness, though. That's what I found anyway. Game was mtg and I started with Judgment and stopped when the planeswalkers happened. Felt like a different game, wasn't into it at all any more. Done a couple of casual games with friends since with random cobbled together decks made only of proper cards but wouldn't go anywhere near anything competitive again. I took 5th in a 64 person offline tournament once (that I wasn't even properly prepared for... but all the netdeckers were just THAT damn predictable)... that'll do, that's fine. Played the online thing a little bit when it came out and game feels like gambling now, much more than it used to. Used to feel at least somewhat strategic. Bleh to it. Much more into D&D now, don't have the balancing issues with that (well you do I guess, they just aren't anywhere near as important). My favourite wins still remain the time I brought monoblue beatdown to the local group and said nothing and just let them hold back expecting countermagic that never came. Funny as hell. Wouldn't get that sort of nuance these days, everything's way too fast and 'efficient', you'd just run ultra-rares that do both things twice as much without costing any more. You can tell I'm a little bitter with the way it turned out huh. lol had my fun though while it lasted

Yes, but it doesnt look like the cards have reverse sides, because each cow depicted has 3 modes, so you have to get duplicate cards *and* their variants to make this work. If the cards come in booster packs, that takes a lot of luck/money. If they come in packs where you know what you're getting, every player can just build a perfect deck by just handpicking the cards that work best together, taking fun and strategy out. It might involve a lot of trading, and if anybody caught on to these moves nobody would give up those cards. It just looks really implausible.

"Why won't you just finish me off?" "Look, dude, I had this whole, elaborate combo planned since I started building this deck. I fine-tuned it so many times to maximize the chances that I would be able to pull it off, and you know how many times I've been able to actually execute it without some key card either being stuck at the bottom of my deck or being discarded by one of your other card powers? None. Zero. This is the first, and _possibly only_ time I have the opportunity to actually take it to its maximum conclusion and deal the theoretical maximum possible damage of 9,877 HP damage in a single turn." So I asked to see his deck, counted the cards in each, said we both draw all (because that's all we had done for the past three turns), and then said I pass to him, he needs to draw, he cannot, and because it's not his main phase he can't kill me in response.

Did it on the gameboy to farm BP. Then would purposely do as little damage as possible while instantly murdering every monster card they summoned. Or purposely trigger certain cards on their field so they can gain more life points.
@moviefan22363 жыл бұрын
It's usually worse when either your opponent either takes pity on you, wants to show you the other cards/combos they could use to make you miserable, or don't have all the cards for the combo they REALLY want to use so your stuck like that for several turns, though occasionally if they don't have too much of a lockdown on you or the heart of the cards finally works for you, you can pull of an oh so satisfying win and ruin their fun. I've been on both sides of the coin, it's why I have (mostly) stopped waiting to finish my opponent off for more turns than necessary.
@kokirij01673 жыл бұрын
@@moviefan2236 I’d be okay with being combo’ed even tho I had like 100 LP left if they told me beforehand. Like “Hold on, I wanna get out my boss monster” Alright, cool, I’ll watch.
