Not sure if his favourite band is Nirvana and that's the joke Or he finished med school in 3 weeks and his first patient is a kid who's favourite band is Nirvana and so he picked it up because of his musical background and had an appropriate reaction But really this sketch along with it's mirrored structure is a comentary on parental expectations put on children to live a life they themselves would want to look back to with no regard for what the child wants. The mother appearing at the doctor subverts the viewers expectations when in reality it's the father who appears in the scenes where the child is pressured into music (in one possibility) The intelligent casting to make all characters look similar also emphasizes the pressure parents put on their children to be a reflections of themselves, again, strengthened by the mirror structure of the entire film. When the father forces the child to eat his cellphone with sheet music, you might think that it is a commentary on digital media consuption by the younger generation, but it goes deeper in the circumstamces. Perhaps it delves into the idea that high expectations require younger generations to absorb an unrealistic amount of information and skill as younglings in order to succeed in life, where parents try to "force feed" children by jet streaming them past their old lives in the hopes of letting their children "pick up where they left off" This really shows how much of a visionary Rudy Adobe is and how this work of art is a timeless masterpiece

That's like my alternate universe's life! My parents always pressured me to become a doctor, and never support my wish to become a musician, I even believed in high school that it was something I wanted. You guys have no idea how amazing it would be for me having guitar pedal/sheet music breakfast when I was a teen, but instead I got biology books, and hours of lecture about "how musicians are poor and depressed and doctors are rich and smart". Well, I passed the exams for med school, studied for almost 3 years, then my dad died, and I couldn't keep up with the insane commitment with med school and becoming a doctor. So I dropped med school and turned to music, I was way depressed at the time so music became a fugue and a therapy, my focus and my spiritual relief. And today I have no idea how frustrated I would be if I knew every enzime, medicine and disease, but couldn't express myself, my love and my feelings over a nice composition. Life is weird, just do whatever you want, parents are regular human beings and know nothing about what future has to offer, nobody does, you are the only one to decide what to do with your future. Now go!! And be the best version of yourself.
