I dont know what that first caller did to piss her sister off but she better find out quick. In no world would a reasonable person think of their sibling's ex as the first choice to be a sperm donor. Its totally inappropriate and a massive betrayal of the unwritten family code rules. I would be super interested to know if their family dynamic does have issues with boundaries. The fact that she didnt even consider checking in with her sister before suggesting this to the Latvian guy is wildly disrespectful and makes me wonder if her sister has some sort of vendetta. Like maybe theres so underlying issue shes passively aggressively trying to get back at her sister by way of Latvian man. Or shes a complete narcissist and just hasnt even thought about how a massive decision like that would impact her sibling. I would not email her like Moshe said. I would talk to her and her partner in person so that they understand the gravity of the situation and if they continued to proceed with the plan, I probably would not participate in any part of the pregnancy process. Like no baby showers or gender reveal or anything. The only thing you can do when someone doesnt respect your boundary is set one for yourself.

Same lol - it's still highly inappropriate. The only difference is that a straight male may not care as much personally. Not to make generalizations but generally straight (in my opinion) men aren't as sensitive regarding fertility or children ...or exes for that matter lol. Like a straight man in a happy relationship would probably not care if his gay brother wanted to use his ex as a surrogate unless the ex was a nightmare or the relationship ended badly. That doesn't change the fact that is clearly a crossing of boundaries to even suggest something like that.

The problem that her sister is deliberately ignoring a common knowledge boundary for her own selfish need. To me, this is more of an issue with their dynamic as family members than it is about the Latvian dude. Regardless of how awesome he is or how well he gets along with the family, there is no good reason that a sibling would intentionally choose their sisters ex boyfriend to be her baby daddy. There are sooooo many men in the world and so many other avenues any reasonable person would think of before saying "oh let me call my sisters ex." It's weird and if it were my sibling I would wonder if there's some underlying issues she has with me and this was like some weird revenge plot.
