When Your Thoughts Attack | Steven Furtick

Odds are, if you really think about the way you feel, you can always find a thought that started it. If you're feeling insecure, did you compare yourself to someone else first? If you're frustrated, did you catch a thought of offense?
Pastor Steven Furtick of Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC is helping us guard our minds and hearts from thoughts that are making us sick.
In this season of our lives we’re practicing social distancing because we all know we can catch a disease from being in contact with other people. But are we paying attention to the contacts in our phone? We may not be close to others physically, but that doesn’t mean we are immune to the influence of their mindsets.
Pastor Steven challenges us to ask this question whenever we’re feeling like we don’t matter and struggling with insecurity, “Where did that thought come from?” He helps you know what to do when your thoughts attack? Just like Eve in the garden of Eden who caught a deceptive thought from a serpent, we are susceptible to deception and manipulation from the competing voices vying for our attention.

Praying that God will reveal himself to you in the middle of your pain, that He will revive your faith, and that you will come out of this victorious!! I was in a similar place a few months ago and was in a lot of emotional pain. I had to literally cry out to the Lord in my secret place and he met me where I was. I know that if he can heal my brokenness and pain that He will do it for you too. Just cry out to Jesus!!

My biggest struggle in life is dealing with my thoughts. 12:15 and onward hit me so hard. I tend to let every bad thought somehow define me. As if a mere suggestion that creeps into my mind will suddenly change who I am. But my thoughts do not define me. My thoughts aren’t who I am. Hey Nancy, It is faith that makes the prayer works. Believe that God can heal you completely. My Mom 55yrs old had brain hemorrhagic and left side all the parts were paralyzed. Doctors said she is bed ridden for life. Even I believed in science and technology. But when doctors gave up, I thought there is nothing we can do for my Mom situation. We are happy that she is atleast alive. But my faith raised after reading Ezekiel 37 (The valley of dry bones). If God can do a miracle like that, paralysis is nothing in front of breathing life to dry bones. Guess what My Mom started walking with in 6months and she is now again back to normal within one year.

@Rebecca’s Vlogs I understand COMPLETELY.... It may be OCD or generalized anxiety disorder.....If you have intrusive thoughts that you CAN'T make stop.... I go to the hospital on average 2-3 times a year from severe panic attacks.. Even when the EMTs have checked all of my vitals. ... I'm STILL convinced I'm dying and insist they get me to the hospital 😔....And my faith is SUPER strong, but the fear of death doesn't mean your not strong enough in your faith... In my case its because I'm not satisfied where my life is atm....And I don't want anything to happen until I achieve my goals....

I suffered from this too, to a point where it was tormenting. Declare and believe that God has healed you! Stop feeding the enemy and start feeding your spirit man. Pray every morning before you do anything else and before bed and fast. Speak scripture when you start having those thoughts! Do not let evil overcome you but overcome evil by doing good! Take every negative though into captivity and under the obedience of Jesus Christ! Remove anything toxic from your life (what you watch, what you listen too, who you surround yourself around, even what you say). Do your best to be positive every single day. God bless you.

The devil isn’t omniscient, he doesn’t have the same powers as God. The Lord can allow for things to happen bad or good. Especially if you are in sin, the Lord can’t fully protect you away from the devil or his demons. But you can be tempted or attacked externally but your thoughts come from our deep roots of being stiff necked, since we are all descendants of Adam and Eve. The devil can’t put things into your thoughts, he can present something to you in the world and then your thoughts become death aka sin. You have to ask God to help you w evil/sinful thoughts bc those steam from you (even if your a good person) you can’t forget our sinful nature.

Depression isn’t real it’s called being sad and sadness is controlled by your thoughts. Anxiety too, none of these things exist they just want to label your emotions so you feel as if it’s not normal and need medications. Don’t be fooled. Everything will be okay. So I just watched this because I've been feeling insecure. Not only do I compare myself to other people but I also compare myself to my past self who is more mentally stable, determined and in every way, better. These past few months, my mind has been telling me that I just wasted what God has given me and now I'm hopeless. I hate myself for listening and believing in all the lies that the devil has been telling me. Maybe it's because I think I deserve the worst possible situations and that I don't deserve blessings. This video really spoke to me especially the line "He can't take what God gave you but if he can get you to catch a thought that opposes it, he can keep you so weak you will not walk into it." I really want to be mentally and spiritually stronger so that I will not waver whenever negativity is attacking me. I just don't know what to do because I feel like I can't hear Him. 🥺

What you now need to do? The opposite of what you were doing. Salvation is a journey and trust me if GOD rescued worse souls than you, then HE can't fail to rescue you too. Focus on Grace sermon and GOD'S Love for you because HE loves you far more than anyone Psalms 49:15“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!" Read the word of GOD so that you see HIS Heart and Purpose for you. Have Faith, because you might do all the above but without Faith, salvation is impossible.

For he loves me that he provided a sacrifice, for in my weakness he is strong and faithful towards me. Always pray for the knowledge to be on your guard, and to run toward his love that gives you peace and comfort to keep walking and carrying your cross. There is joy in the morning, there's always a reason to feel blessed. The oxygen I breathe, eyes to see the beauty and that which is only visible to the spiritual believer. For we as believers are told to come as we are and He'll give us the power to overcome those mountains which seems impossible to climb and those wide and deep oceans he will split into two as he did in the days of Moses. SO by this knowledge we should always share comfort and peaceful words for the weary. I myself is crawling towards the light for my salvation and peace is provided by his glory and grace.

He tells you that you are perfect, you are love, you are healed and most of all you are HIS. Surround yourself with the armor of his light and feel it wash through you. Jesus Christ healed me! This is my story about my healing!I was extremely ill! I had diabetes and kidney failure, which urgently requires dialysis! I prayed to God to heal me, not for me, because I don't deserve it, but for my little children, who were left without a mother! in exactly that day, in which I prayed, the Lord healed me!
