That's not what he said. He said that Jesus came to minister to both Jews and Gentiles. The Jews rejected Jesus, even after Peter and the apostles ministered to them. Some converted but many did not. Israel paid a heavy price for their rejection, now going on 1970 years. Seems fitting given that Moses got mad and broke a rock and the Jews worshipped a golden calf so they wandered the desert for 40 years, or the strayed from God's word and were led into captivity several times, culminating with their scattering by the Roman empire. Jesus used Paul to minister to the Gentiles (along with Luke). Now, the "church" consists of believers from all walks, including messianic jews. From north east India. We are the Khasi tribe who have settled here in Meghalaya long before the British came to India. 80 % of us have become Christians. 20 % still follow the orthodox religion which is not Hinduism of course. There's no proof of that. The Assyrian empire took the ten tribes of the Kingdom of Israel. The Babylonian empire took the other two tribes in the Kingdom of Judah (Tribe of Judah, Tribe of Benjamin and half of the Tribe of Levi). In the book of Ezra, we read that people from the tribe of Judah, Benjamin and Levi returned to the land of Israel after 70 years in captivity in Babylon. In the 70AD, the Jewish people were scattered across the nations. On May 14th 1948, God brought back the Jewish people into their land after 2000 years of exile (Read Ezekiel 37). So the Jewish people in the land of Israel today are either from the tribe of Judah, Tribe of Benjamin and the Tribe of Levi given what happened in the book of Ezra. Maybe there are some of the people from ten tribes who came back to Israel.

It only takes one generation to forget who they are. What I mean is some so many Great Grandparents did pass on their family heritage, because their ethnicity and culture were being persecuted against, so they moved to where people didnt know them, their ethnicity or cultural background. They changed their names and pretended to be Caucasian. And never to their children. Many years later has passed and x Great Grandchildren later, which is us, wonder who is part of our family tree. I told my wife that I discovered that I have x Great Grandparents, on both sides of my parents family line.
