I'm a Baptist & I didn't even know that this "Trinity" vs "Oneness" thing was a thing. Growing up I heard the term Trinity. I didn't become a true believer until 2014-2015, & I got my conviction & truth by reading the Bible. A year ago a co-worker, & brother in Christ asked me if I was trinitarian or oneness, I knew what he was talking about by instinct, & my answer was The Father is The Holy Ghost, & Jesus is The Holy Ghost, I guess I'm a One God guy. Ever since I've been finding ppl on my life talking about this very subject.

Amen Pastor Urshan!!! Another great and well done scholarly session on the Oneness of God!!! The historical info you provided and your manner of presentation should cause an honest-hearted trinitarian to dig deeper into the Bible to determine which concept (Oneness or Trinitarianism) the Scriptures support. Very good verses that are included in the Nicene Creed and partly establishes the True Faith. These verses are part of Trinitarian Dogma - are believed on by Christians - are recited in Community… are foundational in their Christology, Theology, and Soteriology. These verses are part of one’s private prayer rule, and are expressed in brotherly love and Christian piety in the commonality of the True Faith. And yet, the vlogger - who is hyper focused on Rome and her Innovations that led her away Orthodox, seems to lump anyone who doesn’t agree with him … is diabolical… which is a cultural norm for Oneness Pentecostalism.

@@realmccoy124There is no verse in the Bible that describes a Trinity in any way similar to how trinitarians currently believe. Where do you get the belief in the Trinity? We as Apostolics believe that the doctrine of the Trinity was introduced into the church by Platonic believers who assumed that God couldn't come to Earth himself. Calvin never forgot the furious rebukes, and later Servitus made the mistake of passing through Geneva where he was taken captive by the Calvinists and by the nod from Calvin was burned at the stake. On the stake he was told to cofess that Jesus was the eternal son of God. But Servitus refused and instead said that Jesus was the son of the eternal God.

For the Jews, and indeed for the first Christians, the term Lord was proper to God alone: “God is the Lord and has revealed Himself unto us” (Ps 11.8). This Lord and God is Yahweh; and it is Jesus the Messiah as well. For although Jesus claims that “the Father is greater than I” (Jn 14.28), he claims as well: “I and the Father are one” (Jn 10.30). Believing in “One Lord Jesus Christ” is the prime confession of faith for which the first Christians were willing to die. For it is the confession which claims the identity of Jesus with the Most High God.

The book he read from is called the ‘Apostolos’… here is where Oneness Folks like to distort Truth to support their fictional narrative: “They don’t even have the entire Bible”. The Apostolos only has the the Acts and the Epistles. The Reader chants the Epistles readings to the Faithful - as that’s the only reason why he was sent. The Nicene Creed - affirms only One Church - it’s catholicity - meaning every tribe, kindred, and nation - universal… and its apostolicity - in that it is built upon and has preserved the teachings of the Apostles as it was once delivered. The word Apostolic is intentionally used to describe the Church - in that she is mystical. She exists outside of time in the perpetual state of ‘now-ness’… as well as she is present this this world, but is not of the world… She is sent to participate in God’s redemptive work in all of the Cosmos. Don’t confuse catholic - with the Roman church.

If you believe in the doctrine of oneness can you please explain to me Matthew 3:16-17, and tell me how that’s only the father, or only the son and not both of them together in the same passages

Distinction in Jesus in his roles or modes of existence as Father (Spirit) and Son ( human). God is not a person like us in mankind. God is Spirit, invisible, God gave voice to his presence, but no being like us was in heaven speaking, but God did speak about his only begotten in the water, the 100% man of flesh and bones and blood. God was though not just around him, in heaven, but was IN HIM!!! THE MAN IN The WATER WAS THE Body OF Jesus, HIS BODY THE Christ . The Holy Spirit was shown in a vision like a dove for a visible manifestation for John .

@ appreciate the reply, if the spirit of God, in the passage, or the (Holy Spirit) is descending upon him, where does it descend from, and from who. I think the answer is simple. The spirit is descending from the father, that is in heaven, as Jesus tells us he is in heaven multiple times throughout scripture.

@ I’m a bit confused, are you saying Christ is the spirit, the son, and the father?

Ok. So this is why historical fact checking is important His claim; Sabellius taught “true” Christianity, and “the power of Rome came against him”. The problem with this claim; Christianity wouldn’t be legal in Rome for another 80-100 years AFTER Sabellius. In fact, the worst of Christian persecution from the Roman empire against Christians was yet to come. Sebellius was spreading his ideas around 215AD. The worst persecution of Christians by the Roman empire was under Emperor Augustus Diocletian from 283-305. Christianity wouldn’t be tolerated until the edict of Milan which was issued in 313AD. So, why is this man saying that the “power of Rome” is what came against sebellius? Thats obviously not true. The truth is, Sebellius was teaching something that was different from what had been passed down by the Apostles to their successors, and their successors (Catholic Bishops) were correcting his errors ENTIRELY independent of Rome which was still hostile to the Christian faith.
@kevinconnelly607510 ай бұрын
It's true Rome didn't accept Christianity until the Edict of Milan officially. Greco Roman thought had already inflitrated. Tertullian is a prime example. Rev. Urshan isn't claiming they resisted the man Sabellius. They resisted Sabellianism which was the majority of Christian believers at the time. Here's a quote from Tertullian: "the "simple" who always constitute the majority of believers are often startled at the idea that the One God exists in three and were opposed to his understanding of "the rule of faith."
@kevinconnelly607510 ай бұрын
Sabellius was contending for the same thing the Apostles taught. That had fallen out of favor with the growing Greco Roman apologists that were being diluted with Romish philosophy. By the time Constantine hijacked Christianity the apostasy was complete. 325 AD Christianity looked nothing like Day of Pentecost Christianity. That is a historical fact and it is exactly what Rev. Urshan teaches. PS You would lose badly in a debate with him.

Which is why he didn’t respond to me. He knows better than to go up against scrutiny. Has he ever accepted a challenge from anyone before? Probably not. Typical of false teachers.

Bro Urshan I respect you, and I am a lifelong Oneness believer, member of the UPC but sir this sounds too much like personal experience and argument. To be credible, we must be able to cite sources and prove it out through Scripture correct? I just feel that this methodology is not effective to someone who is searching for answers, for the truth.

Hi. You have many factual statements, but are misleading (whether intentional or not). You mention several folks - many of whom are rejected as Heretics - and speak of them as Trinitarians… Sabellius, Tertullian, Arius, and Origen were rejected for very specific reasons, by their Bishops. And oddly enough, you’re asserting the Doctrine of the Trinity was codified 100 years after the rise of Sabellius teachings. How could he reject by something that wasn’t codified yet? Complete conjecture - that Sabellius wrote volumes. If none of his writings exist, then it is speculation and gut-feels. Hippolytus was fiercely against him - that is true. Tertullian was booted out. And Arius spoke against his Bishop, claiming he was a Sabellian. The Bible wasn’t compiled and codified until the 5th Century. Why would those diabolical Trinitarians codify something that would be against the tenants of the Faith? Such an illogical position. Sabellianism is considered a Trinitarian doctrine that focused and distorted Jn 10:35. Assertion. The Trinitarian doctrines was massaged and changed more and more over time. But the vlogger fails to state when those latter changes occurred, what was changed, and who made the changes, and whether or not those changes were conciliatory or not. Some of the later changes were done by Rome, by herself. The vlogger seems to buy in with the notion that Rome ruled the roost. The seven church councils … Rome was a bishop of equals. Rome May purport herself as Supreme…. But the papacy’s claim was never accepted… and to this day, rejected. The Nicene Creed is exact in its wording - at it was dogmatized - it remains. Any deviation from the Creed is an innovation. Rome innovated. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - the Trinity - One in essence AND undivided. Jesus is fully God and Fully Man. He is not created. He is not subordinate. But like most oneness Pentecostals folks like to do - is to reject because grand daddy said so… and have never actually studied what the Dogma says… and often misrepresent what is expressly and exactly worded - confusing it with a lot of crazy stuff that isn’t found in it’s wording. I guess I would be upset too, if my teaching was rejected in the 3rd Century - by a non-codified teaching that didn’t exist until the 4th Century… I once rejected those Councils too, because they had ‘rejected me’… until I studied them in depth and I found out how inerrant things were in the Camp I left behind. One Essence AND Undivided. Not three gods. Not subordinate. The Son existed before all ages…. The enmity between God and man - exists because of the actions of man… not by the actions of God. Therefore, we excommunicate ourselves when we walk disorderly… and neglect our salvation… and teach against the Holy Tradition of Scripture. You can’t teach something that’s not found in the Bible… I don’t see a verse that shows us that Paul spoke in tongues at his conversion. Nor do I see him teaching that one had to speak in tongues … in Gal Eph Phil … etc. Anyhow, thanks for the good study today. I had fun researching information about the things you mentioned. As your soul prospers. Lee.
