I think they tried it early on and what happened is that their viewer ratings dropped. And it's not hard to see why. A lot of fans and lets say someone tuning into one piece for the first time is not going to catch what the story is about if they happen to catch a sidestory that has nothing to do with the main heroes or plot. And it can just be really boring to watch. Like, I used to put Skypeia as my personal least favourite arc because of the middle where the pacing just drags. But no... Dressrosa comfortably takes that spot because it goes on far too many tangents that I get so lost, there's the rebecca story (well, what should've been her story but became Kyros' story), baby 5, senor pink's flashback, diamante... the list goes on. I get that it's an enriched world. But this just gets thrown at you in the middle of what is a mega battle. So, it's good for its plot points. Not so good because Dressrosa has far too many side stories IMO. Basically I just want to focus on the main story. One or two side stories I can follow but not several. So I can see why people would not be so hyped about animated canon filler. (And it is filler. Filler just fills the time even if its canon)

@@khalicrawford9851 You are confusing Stansen with Jean Bart. Jean Bart is the big guy already enslaved by Saint Roswald that Law saves during their escape from the Auction House. Stansen is the giant that was captured and about to be sold. He's the one to notice Rayleigh's use of haki (when he used it to stop Disco from hurting Keimi in the backstage), and is already freed when Rayleigh makes his presence known in the stage. He also covers for the other freed would-be slaves, protecting them while the pirates open a path throught the marine forces. Jean Bart has continuously appeared as part Law's crew since, while Stansen disappeared from the story until the Hajrudin crew cover story.

I think the chapter cover stories are the best part about one piece, (as a manga not a story I must clarify). I can see the next arc being a rescue Sabo arc, where Luffy both redeems himself for being unable to save Ace and accomplishes what even Whitebeard was unable to do. Because the grand fleet members know about Sabo so if the Navy attempt to use the same tactic they used to lure Whitebeard out then it’s pretty much guaranteed they would all show up.

I am a manga reader and I am a bit peeved the Grand Fleet's cover stories HAVE NOT been animated in any significant way. We need more scenes of the Tontattas, Bartolomeo's Straw Hat fan club bringing merchandise to different islands, and especially Hajrudin's New Giant Pirates. guess it's pretty easy to predict what the final enemy is. since blackbeard competes with luffy finding the one piece and therefore becoming the pirate king he is technically seen the last enemy for the offical ending of one piece but after luffy becomes the pirat king he has to settle thing with the world government (im, gorosei). oda even told us that one piece will end soon but not entierly and there are things to do even after finding the one piece.

Am I weird for saying that Bellamy is my favorite One Piece characters? I really want to see his character evolve in a solo series. To me he really feels like the "Vegeta" type, he was extremely certain on his beliefs and his pride but then was completely crushed by Luffy following up with yet another humiliating conflict in Dressrosa. If they make an anime special about the Straw-hats grand fleet, I hope they focus on him the most. Also, I really think Bellamy has the most opportunity for growth strength-wise. His spring-spring powers could mimic a lot of the abilities of Luffy and in some ways (with some creativity) could even be cooler.

Yo! On rewatch through Whole Cake, I did notice that during a scene involving Mont'dor's book prison, a short shot shows a leg sticking out with bandages very similar to Bluegilly. I could be wrong and it could also just be a goofy Easter egg from the animators but figured it was worth mentioning!

I think after shanks helps Luffy to defeat Kaido and Big mom they have the biggest banquet ever and open up Wano. After the world receives the news Black Beard with his fleet will ambush The sunny and when they have no way out, The Strawhat grand fleet will appear and give them time to recover. This is just my speculation.

Coming back here with a thought since recent manga chapters. So we know Vivre cards give off the life force of their owner, and I was thinking of a way this could come to bring the Grand Fleet to Wano. Maybe with Luffy's recent transformation with the "Drums of Liberation". Maybe the pieces of his cards start drumming and the Grand Fleet assemble to liberate Wano and facilitate the clean up of the war.

i really think the big event is gonna be a war vs shanks, let me explain, shanks didnt care if you laught at him or throw sake on it, but he cares about the ppl he protect and his friends, so bartolomeo already start a war burning the jolly roger and more important damaging ppl under shanks banner, i think bartolomeo afraid of geting luffy in trouble is gonna reach to the other capitans of the fleet, so when luffy arrives on elbaf (i think is shanks territory) is gonna see the gran fleet capture(if elbaf is shanks territory that means ties to the giant pirates meaning that instead of killing the grand fleet he could only capture them) so now luffy has to face the consecuences of being a pirate, and fight shanks(not necesary to death or something like that) to save the fleet.

Also wasn't Bellamy playing with a material that is fire proof. So he would've made a flag that can't be burned by the enemy which predicts the SH will never fall.
