You say you flush your filters every week in a busier anchorage. It would be helpful if you posted a video of how you do that, even just an explanation. Address questions like, which ones do you flush? Can you and how do you flush a carbon filter? And do you have to reverse the water through the filter, or would just a light rub get it all off? Excellent video. Dispels a number of myths about always having to leave an anchorage to make water. For us, that is every 3-4 days.

Thank you, I have been watching your videos and I appreciate the educayion. I am a few years from retirement and considering a cruising lifestyle. When I am inspecting a boat for purchase, is there a way to tell howold the WM ssytem is and what date the RO and other filters are?

+Thefireman 285 The only real way to determine if a water maker and membranes are good is to run it. If the Hp pump builds to 800psi then the Hp pump is good, Then if the TDS of the fresh water is below 500ppm then the membranes are good. But there really isn't a way to know if a water maker is "good" until you run it.
