Mike Ilitch is pretty much a God in Detroit. He used his own money in the building of Little Caesars Arena, Comerica Park and the rebuilding of the city of Detroit in general. He also gave up land in the development of The District Detroit project with apartments, a shopping district and entertainmet district all being built, again with some of Ilitch's money backing it. I just hope that his son doesn't drive it all into the ground. Oh, and yes, the pizza pretty much sucks. There's a reason $6 Hot-n-Ready is $6.

The Devils new owners never seemed to really care about having a winning team, just about keeping the arena as a moneymaker for concerts and such. This year they got lucky not only nabbing the #1 overall pick and him turning out to be a great contributor, but the Devils' salary since the new owners has taken over has just been near the salary floor (as opposed to the ceiling). The good thing is that Ryane Clowe's contract has expired and we don't have any more LTIR contracts to add to the cap, so Harris will have to pull out $4 million more a year in order to pay for a player or two (LTIR contracts usually are paid by insurance, so the Devils' owners only have to pay the premiums on those contracts) this year and hopefully we'll get someone good.

The Flyers are owned by Comcast Spectacor, which itself is a daughter company of Comcast itself after buying the majority ownership stake in the 90s from Ed Snider, and acquiring the remainder of Comcast Spectacor from Sniders estate after his passing in 2016. Comcast is a publicly traded company and though Brian L. Roberts is the son of its founder and serves as Chairman and CEO, he only owns about 1% of the shares. Though this gives him through same shareholder artifice a 33% controlling interest, it can hardly be said that Roberts has ownership of the Flyers. This is different from for example Ted Leonsis, who is the Chairman, CEO and Majority Owner of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, which in turn own the Washington Capitals. Monumental is also a private company, as opposed to a publicly traded one.

Don't know much about Tom chipman's personal but as a Manitobian I can say not only was he instrumental in bringing back the Jets but he's the reason for professional hockey in Winnipeg right now period. After the original jets left he created True North entertainment to bring hockey to Winnipeg by using the company to buy the Minnesota Moose and have them become the Manitoba moose. Then he gets a new arena( the mts centre) built for the moose which he uses as a bargaining chip when True North buys the Atlanta Thrashers and relocates them to become Jets 2.0 . Now True North have also brought back the Moose to serve as the farm team for the Jets out of Winnipeg as well.
