@mellanapa, what has colonialism got to do with it you tit? The fact that we all integrate properly and respect the positive aspects of each others cultures and actually glorify them is a great thing. And actually, the British empire was the only empire in history that integrated the different cultures which is why it lasted so long and was so successful.

I recently discovered that Ren also recorded a cover of “Can't Help Falling In Love (Elvis Cover),” that is simply beautiful. Ren's performances with Sam Tompkins (“Blind Eyed,” “Earned it /Mans World / Falling,” “Walking on the moon/No Diggity,” “Feeling Good/Trouble So High/Masterblaster (Jammin'),” “What Went Wrong” Part I&II), are all great and shouldn't be missed.

'what cant you do' indeed. the heavy part of that equation is with the equalsized bag of shit that also got dumped on him, he could so easily do none of these things, no matter how talented he is. life is a mf like that and i believe rens greatest ability is to show up and do it.

Great reaction. "The Big Push" (Ren Gill, Gorran Kendall, Romain Axisa, and Glen Chambers) busking sessions, concerts, and live recordings all are awesome and well worth checking out. All but the drummer sing lead vocals at times. Their other covers like "Wade in the Water/Nina Simone/Trouble so Hard," "Watch Out," “Roadhouse Blues,” "My Generation," “Paint It Black,” "An Englishman in New York," “Bongo Bong” are equally awesome. On “These Boots Are Made For Walking,” “Praise You” (Fatboy Slim Cover), “What Kind Of Woman Is This,” all three take a turn singing. The songs "Oh My Woman," “Swan Song,” “Sweet Little Lady," "It's Alright," “Dignity,” and so many others are equally impressive. The band, at least for the time being, performed their last official busking session and gave their last concert in September of last year (2022) due to the fact that Ren was leaving for Canada to undergo specialized medical care and surgeries for his multiple health issues.

@@JensRandolff Ren is such a gift! And The Big Push is a great band not just because EVERY member possesses great musicianship but because they are able to be a band AND do individual solo work without the Ego ruining their dynamic. When I watch them play I have to remind myself that Ren is struggling physically with the long term after effects of his un/misdiagnosed Lyme. I bought all of their back catalogues on iTunes ( including Chinchilla’s) and am waiting for the physical CD’s of REN’s to be restocked so I can load up on merch.( I’m old school and like to hold the actual piece of music rather than just the digital ones).

Lovely reaction. It was great to see a big smile on your face and you dancing along in your chair. Myself and others have commented previously comparing Ren to Prince. Now those are mighty big shoes to wear - but I think the comparison rings true. He can play multiple instruments: he can write, sing, produce and has a great stage presence. Maybe he isn't quite as polished (yet) as Prince but the potential is sure there to rise to the same heights. It is exciting to understand where he has come from, where he is at now -- and where he might go next. His musicality and talent just shine through.
