I'm surprised you decided to part ways with the GX460 instead of the 4Runner. It's a great SUV. I'm sure anyone using it as a rental will be thrilled to be using it. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with the Tundra. It should be a fun journey. Smart move ditching the expos for a year. Actually getting out there with that beautiful family will mean infinitely more.

I am certainly not a Toyota fanboy, but I have heard really good things about that generation tundra and sequoia both. Every time I start researching Overlanding rigs that aren’t new vehicles those are the two that pop up the most often with good review.

I have 2015 1794 Tundra. Glad to see out grew the magnaflow exhaust, I am anxious to see what you to your truck. My wife is disabled so we get a lot of enjoyment out of your videos. Maybe some of your mods may my truck more accommodating to my wife.

Congrats on the 2nd Gen Tundra and the puppy! It definitely is a upgrade for you guys having more room and also the ability for upgrades including a way larger fuel tank, a buddy has the largest tank that can be gotten and has a insane range with it, even towing a larger travel trailer. I for one have a 1st gen Sequoia and love it. With the expos I totally understand that we have been contemplating not going to the pnw expo because it was crazy hot last year!

You guys are spot on…my husband and I have 2 kiddos (1 just graduated college and 1 with a year left) and we love that we took time with them away from the world to travel all together - maybe not quite as extensively as you 😅 - and just “do life” with them as they were growing. Thank you so much for this follow-up / life update! Met you all back in 2021 at Overland Expo West and since then finally made it back to the Overland Expo in '24, but missed you all. I understand better than most due to the reason as to why I wanted to meet you all again! Back in '21, I was freshly married, and you/the family were my inspiration to share overlanding with my then possibly growing family. Today, I have a little one of my own, and I KNOW that I can share what I love with my daughter thanks to the adventures you've had with your family! Simply thank you! Yes, we missed you, yet we completely understand! Family first and taking a step back is merited, so know, if you ever come back to the west, we're friends who are excited to rekindle connections with you/yours! Toyota mechance here. I was so worried you guys were going to choose one of the new gen hybrid rigs. I am beyond thrilled with your choice of the Tundra. Excellent powertrain with a proven track record. These newer trucks, while fancy and feature fillled, are having some major reliability issues. It will be some time before Toyota irons out all the kinks. Happy trails from a fellow Toyota driver!

After watching your channek for years, it was a pleasure to finally meet you at the PNW Expo last year... I find that attending ONE expo a year to be too much. I can't imagine attending several of them... that had to be exhausting... (and very repetitive.) We aren't attending any Expos this year either, instead choosing to spend our precious PTO time on adventures, rather than preparing for them. So I feel ya brother... spending time with family and friends supercedes everything! I'm glad we get to continue to come along for the ride occasionally! Cheers to new adventures!

Sure you already know this, but when you put a snorkel on the tundra, make sure you also route the secondary air intake into the snorkel as well. The stock intake and pumps for the secondary air is in the passenger front wheel well. any moisture in that system will corrode the valves and cause them to stick, putting it in limp mode. The valves on the 3UR are under the intake near the firewall and a pain to replace.
