A walk about on a local dealers forecourt and finding a few quid being knocked off stock - also a surprise find - ex-defunct Robinsons 2024 Swift Dealer Sunrise specials at some mouth watering prices

Great video Andy, they have some amount of stock on the forecourt. Great discounts to be had on the new vans, notice it over here in Ireland that fairly new used vans 2 year olds are getting big discounts to shift them off the fourcourts. Older vans wouldn't be on the websites for a week they'd be gone so people are searching for the 5 to 10 year old vans to save the cash for other things. Look forward to the Hobby Review to hear your opinion on them.

Interesting what you said about Preston's wishing for more Sunrise dealer specials. I was told the same on Easter Saturday after enquiring about a two berth. Sold out. We ended up part exchanging our 2022 Bailey Pheonix 420 (didn't like it) for a 2024 Sprite Alpine 2 with a good discount. Always dropping in at Preston's as living at Cleveleys, it's our local and nearest dealer. Pity they didn't give me a new number plate though!

If these vans are selling quickly Andy, could it be that the RRP is perhaps 4k too much for people to afford/think it’s value for money? I could justify 21k at the beginning of this year, but no more than that for something I only get a chance to use 4/5 times a year.

Alex - Yes they are and I am the same would not spend above 21k for a van I wasnt going to use much either, at least my Ranger is paid for and under cover out of way - thanks for that input Alex

Hi Andrew, we saw your KZbin video post about a Swift Elegance Grande 860 which we thought was really useful. We ordered a new 2024 Elegance 860 at the NEC in October, and just before Christmas we were given February/March as the date due in to the Dealer. However, early April we were told that it has been built and waiting for transport, but it has still not arrived and our Dealer can’t tell us when it’s due in. My husband has had over 40 years’ experience in the transport industry and cannot understand why it’s so difficult to find this information out. Are you aware of any delays getting new caravans from Swift and also the issues of not keeping the Dealer informed of this date?
@caravanindustryexpertandyjenk2 ай бұрын
Just replied to your question but further the dealer should have a build week schedule he can look at and let you know when it being built and delivered. Swift use there own transport firm to deliver there vans - I did note that there wasnt much stock around but let me know how you get on and I hope the holiday still goes ahead and thank you for watching muy channel

I think 21k is plenty enough Andy, unless money is no object of course, which for some people it’s not. So I guess then you just choose the van that best suits.

Im the same if I had the cash it would not be spent on a van that had more on it than I needed and used Alex

Will eiddis be the new lunar..I know they are owned by a big company but if the consumer confidence in the brand keep going down they is maybe the start of the end

I owned an Elldis prior covid. Just a shame it wasn’t a good one as I think if the quality was upped and a design change they’d be more appealing.

We unfortunately own a 2016 Elddis supreme ( avante) 566. Good layout and looks great but build quality is crap. Had to have a new large heki 2 outer frame which cracked and water literally dripping in. Apparently this was very very common issue across the brand. And the best warranty in the business MB and G doesn't cover roof lights. Also Elddis 10 year warranty for ingress only covers the main body profile. Absolute garbage. You could be right by the way. Adria took over Fleetwood and got rid of the brand. Hymer may do the same. Also people never talk about the Swift situation, who under the ownership ( debt free) of Peter Smith until he retired and the management buyout put the company into massive debts. I've said for a while one of the big boys will fold before long. The Heydays have well and truly gone with poor same old units being produced by the few, caravan parks yanking up prices to unsustainable levels. Even the Caravan club are struggling so I hear. The industry is really on a downward spiral.

Yes have to agree with you guys IV a 2012 634 great layout but it's like a sieve water getting in everywhere..next caravan with not be that brand ..pity cos I love the layout

Hope not - problem at Lunar was some bad investments in the end and quality dropped - they should have been around still in 2024 if all had gone well. Thankfully Swift stayed supporting many jobs as well as being a leader on UK market with vans still being exported too. Back in the 80's there were more companies around so although sad some went id didnt affect the market the same plenty of makers around. site fees were still good to in 1987 £6 a night with electrics included thats what I paid - its so different now few makers left so limits choice on forecourts the industry isnt as it was but thats a change in what folk do with their leisure. Great to hear from you

Whilst content of your video is interesting it’s a bit pointless seeing you all the time & not the vans you’re talking about?
