@@user-bo7zf3nz5e Right, historically that’s true and yes this historical perception still impacts us today. But I am talking about a newer phenomenon that is occurring. It’s a new type/cause of fetishization and it is forming through the widespread culture surrounding asian based entertainment. What is portrayed in this entertainment is not reflective of asian culture as a whole but is (in many cases) unfortunately a foreigner’s only perception of Asian culture. As a result the actions of Asian celebrities and Asian created characters are bleeding into others expectations of asians as a whole. These problematic expectations/bias are very common among anime and kpop fanbases, whether conscious or subconscious these newly formed biases are still there. This is unfortunately resulting in the fetishization, sexualisation, emasculation and p*dophilic views of Asians. I hope that clarifies what I mean.
@Lilly_e-hg1gy2 жыл бұрын
All women of colour a fetishized but no one so blatantly and casually than Asian women which often can lead to violence . No one can dispute or dismiss this as a fact . I’ve overheard many white men , I’ve had white men who have personally been opened about their “ preference “ for Asian women which almost always is rooted in fetishization. Not all but majority of white men do . HOWEVER, there are many Asian women who openly fetishize when men too and deem it to be their “ preference “ . Many would go as far as belittling their Asian men to put their “ preference “ of a white man on a pedestal. Asian women and white men make up the majority of interracial relationships. If an Asian woman is not with an Asian man , she will almost always will pursue a white man . Proximity to whiteness , success , acceptance , assimilation, colorism , internslized racism. Many have or will get defensive of this truth that often always doesn’t get talked about . Proximity to whiteness or worshiping whiteness is deeply rooted in the Asian community. This perpetuation of white supremacist ideals . So if we’re going to talk about fetishization towards Asian women , you also need to mention Asian women fetishizating white men too . It goes both ways . How many Asian women openly speak of their preference for black men ? God forbid Most of your family members wouldn’t allow it . Negative stereotypes of black people/ black men run deep in the Asian community. So if most Asian have relationships with non Asians almost always white will be encouraged and preferred. Not many are ready for that conversation though !!!!!

Nice culture. I can say for my culture (Hungarian) there is an "Asian fetish" as well, but for different reasons. The Austro-Hungarian Empire was a didn't have overseas colonies like other Western empires. In Hungary's case it's mainly because of the legends of the ancient Huns (Attila was from what is today Budapest) and Magyars (who as a whole looked more White than Asian), as well as the culture/language/mentality similarities with the Turkic-Mongol peoples. So even with things in general, fascination with the orient is quite strong in Hungary. I can say I've known a number of Hungarians who went to South Korea experiencing little to no culture shock, compared to Americans and West Europeans. To those Hungarians, Korea felt like something very similar to their own country, yet still being distinct. I've heard Turkish people say very similar things as well.

I'm an old white guy on the path to becoming a high school teacher after 40 years in tech. I intend to teach STEM subjects to disadvantaged and underserved students. First because I want to follow the need (the predominantly white schools are abundantly resourced). More importantly, because at least 90% of the engineers I've worked with were white males: Engineers, as a group, were implicitly exclusionary in every way possible (including ageism). I want tech to become explicitly inclusionary. For me, that starts with getting excluded communities interested in STEM as a vocation. A nice goal, right? What it really means is I have much to learn about those whom I hope to serve. A burning desire is a great motivator, but it won't make the connections that must be made. I need to learn so much more about history and culture, and our current society. Including how people who looked like me made things the way they are. I feel as though this channel were created to meet my exact needs. It seems every sentence launches questions and topics for me to follow-up. This is the only YT channel where I've been taking notes for each episode. Which leads to a request: Would you please add even more references to the description? I'm not a particularly great researcher in this area (the curse of the newbie), and I'm having trouble following everything up. For example, the I'm having trouble finding the videos for "Sisters and Siblings in the Struggle". I did find transcripts, but would prefer to hear the words - my inner reading voice is NOT the right voice for these words! Thanks!

From the 1840s to the 1940s there was no such thing as an "Asian Fetish" in America. Indeed, during that period white America perceived Chinese women as just as unattractive as Chinese men, and - as with the men - often as quite repulsive..

We all have different appearances from each other, but I think there's really only one "race" - the human race. White guy here, and yes while I do find a lot of Asian women attractive, true interest in someone comes from knowing her personality. If she's a nasty lady, for example cruel to animals, she could be the prettiest girl in the world and I wouldn't want anything to do with her. And I try to encourage that in other guys. Be attracted to WHO she is, not only what she looks like. It's true, looking good might get your attention, but being a good person is what should keep it. And that works both ways, with guys and girls.

There is no “Asian fetish.” Men like hot. It just so happens that male preferences in regards to weight/body type (obvious) and demeanor (debatable) are often found in Asian women. Unlike 100 years ago, people have global access to one another and this has become more noticeable. Men around the globe like Asian women which makes this gobbledegook that it’s related to portrayals from movies/acts made in 1875 sound ridiculous. The problem for white western men is that women of their race have never been fatter and more unpleasant. No amount of shaming or hit pieces are going to change that. I don’t hear many hit pieces pointed toward Asian women for having a white dude fetish, despite it being a noticeable preference. I wonder why?

I wish we had more people teaching STEM topics rather than focusing on 1860s issues. and I'm sorry for the students who are being taught they should feel different due to their race one way or another. More over, I'm sorry for tax payer who pays you to teach racism. we should fire you frankly, and hire more STEM teachers.

Wow, Amazing reification of subjective associations to particular laws taken out of context and then projected onto a current claimed social space which is merely another just-so story. Thank you for offering an exemplar of a deontological narrative that does not even pretend to have any self-critique.

Sorry, Officer Baker, but you’re deadly mistaken. That angry White dude, whose side you appear to make excuses for, wasn’t “having a bad day”. He was just angry. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏾♂️💔 For the record, in case nobody knew, just because I draw and paint Japanese women don’t mean that I would “orientalise” my Japanese or other Asian sisters, and I am a Black woman artist! ❤️💜🌹🕊 Oh, and that’s not a Japanese woman. That’s a White woman with chopsticks, rags and flowers in her hair. Surely a real Japanese woman don’t look like that! 😫😩

I'm a white man and I prefer asian women. I don't care if you call if fetish. It's my personal preference. It doesn't mean I don't date non-asian women or that I don't find other women attractive, but priority-wise, when it comes to looks, I find asian women better looking. When it comes to the "inner beauty" then the race doesn't matter. Good and bad personality doesn't choose race and I will not tolerate a bad personality regardless if it's asian. So, in conclusion, it's just a personal preference for external beauty. Leave us alone.

As if other countries don't have a "European fetish"? Several anime I watched recently 'fetishized" white immigrants going to school in Japanese schools. I guess that doesn't fit the narrative though. Can we stop accusing people of racism just for being attracted to a particular "race" for the physical and cultural characteristics that are common among their people? My sister has always dated black men and had three black/white mixed children. Does that make her a racist just because she is white? I get a lot of attention on dating apps from black women who like white guys. Does that mean they're fetishizing me? Are black people who prefer to date other black people fetishizing themselves just because they're attracted to particular aspects?

I live in Atlanta. This is all true. Bdsm, fetishism, all this comes from racist stereotypes of the past and slavery and thank you for teaching me the page act now. Because of so many truth this video touches on this one is one of the best making me feel better to listen to all this to because it's the truth. I hate being fetishized and all women and men I talk to hate it too and it came from stereotypes people learned of the past. And I feel many videos don't talk like this out of fear. We're tired of haters discrediting us. But now we've gotten to a point we don't care we must say this. There are so many young women going towards what they really don't want. And yes like she said men make fun of this subject any color because they feel women problems don't effect them when it does effect men of all colors too. Good video thanks
@ebonfireharbinger79162 жыл бұрын
I don't really understand what you are talking about. BDSM is a lot of things and is not hard linked linked to racism (most has zero to do with it). Fetish goes back even farther to antiquity and all people have a bit of that. I am here to see why some people do of about "Asian women are this and that. (honeslty that is just stupid as all hell) I came to see where that came from and I am a male. If we are honest and true to each other we have better lives. If we see each other for who and what we are and a lady loves his chest and he loves her eyes and they want to play Patient and Nurse I don't see the issue.
@themitraya8132 Жыл бұрын
So white men and Asian women are not allowed to be in relationships with each other because of slavery in America, and BDSM is evil now? The correlation here is strange. It almost seems like you are against interracial relationships between these specific races and genders and you are trying to justify your own racism and sexism by highlighting your own victimhood, which is horrible if you are being enslaved or racially profiled, but you should learn from that and not victimize other races and genders because of how that made you feel. Asian women are allowed to be in relationships with whomever they want, you aren't allowed to oppress other races in a completely different continent just because you were racially profiled.

Hmm let's also discuss about Whiteman being fetashise by Asian and blackwoman. Because I beleive Asian fetashization is not one way street. Both Asian girls and blackwoman also fetashise Whiteman. It's not a fetish, they think asian women are better than yt women. Asian women (in Asian countries) are more feminine and sweet than most women in western countries, it's about the cultural differences. These men are just going where they are treated better
@thuyvihoang94212 жыл бұрын
This is so wrong, mainly white men go to Asia because they know that the women there are less educated or poorer. Asian women sometimes have no other choice and have to put up with such men. Just because women in America are brave and have their needs, they are labeled as not feminine or sweet. Your statement is just an excuse to take advantage of other women in developing countries.
@jimmoriarty45302 жыл бұрын
@@thuyvihoang9421 thats just a minority of men , in most cases men just want to have a normal relationship with a normal women. When they look at a western women with tattoos, bad attitude and higher body count, they don't feel any love. No man can love modern Western women. Lot of rich arab men comes to US and date western women, but none of them have serious relationship with them , you know why ? Because these women are not wife meterial. Then they just go and marry women from their own culture because they are more reliable and trustworthy
@thuyvihoang94212 жыл бұрын
@@jimmoriarty4530 Many of your aspects are very conservative, first of all there are women even if they have tattoos or a high bodycount can love you equally just as much. We live in a time where women dare to say or do what they want. Men are allowed to get tattoos or sleep with as many women as they want. Why not women? And if I am honest, the Arabs have their own mentality and culture. That an Arab likes to have many women around him or have several wives is another matter. The claim that no man would love such women is also false. I see many happy couples in western continents. In addition, many women have their own decision whether to have a family or to enjoy life. If the Arabs and the American women both get something out of it, then so be it. No one dictates how you want to live. Even in Asia, women are starting to think that way too. Many Asians also have tattoos and have a high bodycount. They enjoy their life the way they want.

@@jimmoriarty4530 I forgot something else, most men often go to Asia to maybe enjoy the culture. But also make love with some Asian women or get a bride from there. It is mostly women who do not speak English.

@@thuyvihoang9421 it's not about being conservative or liberal, its about what men want and what men are looking for in a partner. You call yourself a feminist and talk about equality. Are you willing to marry a poor man ? How many modern women and Feminists are ok with marrying poor men? Men have no problem with marrying someone who works for minimum wage if she is attractive and young. Why does women classify men based on our height and salary? Because thats what you want , however progressive you think you are, you are not able to do it. Same way men are territorial in nature, why would I risk my life for a woman I cannot say "she's mine". I heard women say "men are afraid of commitment" , have these women ever saw how men treat their cars and dogs. We can only be committed to someone or something we see as ours, you call it viewing you as property. We would die to protect whats our. We cannot love an only fans model, we cannot love a woman who got heiger body count, we simply cannot, however modern anybody claim they are , they just want your body and they will just leave you. Men who wants to use you might say whatever you want to hear to get what he wants to gets , thats it. After that he will go somewhere else.
