Everyone is saying how sad it was for Songxiao and I agree completely. But just imagine being Shuang hua -Xiao xingchens sword. Every sword has a spirit and can probably feel emotions too. Can you imagine being Shuang hua knowing that you killed many innocents AND your own master too? Like, I know it wasn't fault but it still hurts so deeply is probably what Shuang hua was feeling.😭

the amount of hate i have for xue yang is enough to burn him down to ashes... not even wei wuxian's death makes me this sad... cos like at some point those were all expected as the consequences of his actions but xiao xinchen and song lan really cut me deep. what xue yang did was so outragious.

Great video. It's a shame there aren't more videos on these two. They just had this heartbreaking love story that didn't have an ending. I can't even imagine how Song Lan lives with all those regrets and unspoken words he never got to say. Poor Xiao Xingchen. If you honestly don't think he loved Song Lan I don't know what show people were watching it lol Once again a lovely video that really showed their tragic story.

No :) they are, in a manner of speaking, united again at the end of their story. The drama itself is not linear, and neither is their story within it. When we first see Xiao Xingchen and Song Lan they are already in a relationship: Song Lan is the only character in the entire scene who addresses Xiao Xingchen by his given name alone. As the show demonstrates, this is a privilege reserved for full siblings and lovers. They depart after aiding in the capture of Xue Yang: all of the heroes being unaware that they were tricked by Meng Yao. Not long after that, Wei Wuxian comes across Song Lan: now having been blinded by Xue Yang's attack on his sect. Wen Qing heals Song Lan, using Xiao Xingchen's eyes. This is the part the drama could only hint at, because it's the obviously romantic part and censorship ☹️. The success of this procedure convinces her and Wei Wuxian that the golden core transfer can work. Shortly after this, Wei Wuxian dies and there is a 16 year time skip. At some point in those 16 years, Xiao Xingchen came across A-Qing and started traveling with her. They came to Yi City (Coffin Town in the Netflix subtitles) and found a badly injured Xue Yang. Xiao Xingchen heals him, either not recognizing him (or imo, pretending not to). Xue Yang tricks Xiao Xingchen into killing innocents: he is relying on his connection to his magical sword in order to keep fighting, and the sword can be tricked by demonic magic. At some point, Song Lan comes looking for Xiao Xingchen and encounters Xue Yang. The two of them end up in a swordfight and Xue Yang uses demonic magic on Song Lan. Xiao Xingchen is tricked, and kills Song Lan. However, Xiao Xingchen is able to read the name on Song Lan's sword with his fingers: and realizes his mistake. He confronts Xue Yang who gloatingly reveals the trick. Distraught, Xiao Xingchen kills himself. Some time after this, Wei Wuxian, Lan Zhan and the major clan juniors come by to investigate the mystery of Yi City. They find A-Qing, who has been able to avoid Xue Yang by pretending to be a zombie. At the same time, Xue Yang approaches Wei Wuxian disguised as Song Lan asking him to resurrect Xiao Xingchen. Wei Wuxian doesn't buy the disguise though, and reveals Xue Yang: who reveals that he really does want Wei Wuxian's help in resurrecting Xiao Xingchen. Realizing that A-Qing is not a zombie, Wei Wuxian gets the truth from her and reveals Xiao Xingchen's corpse. Lan Zhan has encountered the real Song Lan by this time and the team free him from Xue Yang's control. He goes after Xue Yang, killing him. Wei Wuxian gives Xiao Xingchen's sword and spiritual essence to Song Lan, reuniting them at last. As Song Lan walks away from the town, the ghostly figure of Xiao Xingchen appears beside him.

You're confusing the names. "Zichen" was Song Lan, who loved Xiao Xingchen and (with good reason) HATED Xue Yang. Xue Yang used dirty tricks to separate the two of them and later, befriending the blind Xiao Xingchen, became obsessed with him. And yes, Xingchen did love both Song Lan and Xue Yang so this was a tragic romantic triangle that turned into a dumpster fire!
