If the Braves do make the playoffs they'd be very scary. Their top 3 pitchers are very good, their bullpen is strong and their hitters are starting to figure it out. Riley had like a .650 OPS in June or something crazy and it's around .800 now. Olson's was in the .600s earlier and now it's around .750. Soler has reached base every game for the Braves, Ozuna, and Harris is back, I think they could be very scary in the playoffs if their bats continue to do what we know they can do. It's been a very weird season as a Braves fan.

@ThatRedHusky2 ай бұрын
Judge is hitting homers left and right, thing is this is his 9th year. The only thing that's keeping him away from history is health and longevity. Griffey was in his 14th season at 32 (given he was hurt a lot) and he hit 630. Not to mention Griffey was INSANELY CONSISTENT with homeruns. 40+ HR season after season after season after season. Judge hits a lot of homeruns, but not nearly as much as Griffey. I'm actually betting Judge hits under 600.

Not exactly sure why Trevor is going to bat for the Braves so much. But his reasoning that they’re a fearful team because of the playoffs has the opposite effect. Aaron Judge is great, but I think youngest to numbers are more impressive than fewest games/at bats. The Yanks gave him a lot of time to develop. He's going to struggle with the counting stats unless he has a Ryan like career where he plays amazing into his 40s. At his age, even one or two seasons where he misses a lot of counting stats because of an injury and he'll fall way short on counting stats. I think Judge has a shot at 600, but he has to stay healthy. As for the game, walking Judge wouldn't have worked, since Judge and Wells went back to back. Edit- as for appealing the play at 2nd, I'd argue the difference between this and another appeal is the runner is only out if you touch second with the ball. Yes, you could do that before you give the ball back to the pitcher, but I think doing a formal appeal is useful for the crowd. For most appeals the crowd is focused on the part of the play that is being appealed, but with a missed base the action has already passed that part of the play. By making it formal it shows the crowd what is going on. If you just touched the base the crowd would miss the actual put ou.

Speaking from a baseball fan. Judge is another player that falls into “what could the career numbers be if he wasn’t hurt so much”. Griffey. McGwire etc. just imagine if baseball didn’t block Barry bonds from continuing to play. We’d have a 800 homerun king in the MLB. His last years numbers were better then most players in the game today. He could of played for another 2-3 years.
@Realdrlipschitz2 ай бұрын
He still has 7 years left on his contract lol let’s hold off on saying Judge is another “what if”. He’s had majority injuries from on the field anomalies (broken wrist from hbp, running through a wall, etc.), so he isn’t “injury prone” per sey. The only “what if” with Judge will be: what if he didn’t start so late
@nunzi832 ай бұрын
@@Realdrlipschitz not saying he’s a what if. But he’s 32 and has been hurt a lot. Look at history. Going 7 more years at an average of 50 homeruns a year doesn’t break 700 homeruns. That’s my point.
