Your take on the new Adios Pro potentially having a setup like in the Adios 8 is an interesting one. I would love for that concept as it works really well in the Adios 8. That type of setup gives you a lot of feedback during a run and let’s you know when you hit that sweet spot with your stride. I have heard a few people say they’ve broken rods in their Adios Pro 3, so a modified version version with additional width incorporated in each rod as you depicted would be a nice upgrade. Keep up the great work and analysis. Your content is different than most and a welcome addition.

Ya, The Adios 8 is an incredible shoe. Adidas really nailed it with that one and I agree, the foam setup is part of what makes it so successful. Who said that a "super shoe/race shoe" HAS to be 100% the same foam. Asics showed that that doesn't have to be the case in the Superblast. I too have seen people posting about breaking the rods in the AP3. That midsole is a tank too... imagine what one would see if the Evo 1 was a mass release. Thank you for the kind words and support. I'm just doing my thing, making the content I wanted to always see, because no one else did. Plenty more to come as i feel I'm finding my little niche in our overall running niche.

It's interesting how so many brands now have two different superfoams, Saucony, and even Mizuno but some like Adidas and New Balance have different formulations of the same foam but just don't make a new name for them.
@SagasuRunning Жыл бұрын
I’d add Nike into that too. ZoomX is a very diverse ecosystem at this point. It’s all about options and versatility of application. The “super shoe/superfoam” is no longer just for elite road racing. It’s literally popping up everywhere, super trainers, trail shoes, lifestyle shoes even. Though, as I’ve said in other videos, I think this commodification of super foams means “what is next” is coming. The Evo 1 feels like the start of a new tech race. It will be an interesting next 2-3 years for running shoes for sure.

Another idea might be taken from the Prime X 1, where they had blades under the rods in that shoe. It could be possible using blades instead of rods in the forefoot so it's something more durable and evenly spread out than just rods. Or something like in their trail super shoe where you can see in there they have flatter rods, maybe something similar to even to the Saucony Endorphin Elite's plate where in the forefoot is like finger plates.

Ya… I agree, a lot of what Adidas are building in their trial line for durability will come to the road in a lighter form. Great observation!

Another great analysis from you. It certainly is interesting how Adidas moves forward with the new foam technology. I look forward to your videos!

I’d say Adidas is playing catchup. As good as LSP is and has been… it was very one dimensional. So this new version of the foam adds a range they really needed. Thank you for the kind words and support. Plenty more content coming. Stay tuned!

Great deep dive video again. I find the duel density midsole combinations best on daily trainers rather than racing shoes and I think the majority of these shoes are marketed for training purposes. Since I haven't had a shoe with new 'pro' foam I can't tell how different it's going to be from Lightstrike Pro in terms of feel and durability. The most perfect shoe at the moment is Takumi Sen for me and as long as they don't ruin it I'm fine with it.

You’ll be happy to know the TS10 looks like more of the same from the 8/9. Yes race shoes tend to be one Superfoam… but given adidas is still calling the new foam LSP… all they would really being doing it mixing different durometers of it… But Asics has shown mixed foams can create a surprisingly nice ride in a fast/race shoe. We shall see what they do. I’m very curious. Thank you for the support! 🤙🏻
@macoyupadoodle Жыл бұрын
I agree that a strait-ish plate will allow flex and rebound/spring back more than the rods , also the thickness of the mid (the lower LSP) can still keep the mid geometry (70% toe off geometry) as seen in the Asics superblast (which keeps its geometry without a plate. The only thing I feel, i see, the rods do, is save weight.
@SagasuRunning Жыл бұрын
Honestly, I think the rods are likely heavier than a CF plate. Mostly due to the extra material needed to strengthen the individual rods. Especially so if they need to reinforce them for the softer foam. A CF plate could be engineered to provide similar lateral flex to the rods at a comparable weight, if not slightly less. I’m so curious what Adidas do next.

Very interesting video. I thinking the rods don't brake. I think they will sink into my soft Evo foam and then the rods will brake. I know the Boston 12 configuration is perfect for me so I hope for the Evo foam to be above a carrier foam LIGHTSTRIKE PRO?
@SagasuRunning Жыл бұрын
Mixing foams will definitely give the designers and engineers even more options to balance durability and performance with they new materials. The materials Adidas is beginning to develop are fascinating for sure.

A suo parere, questa tipologia di scarpe, quanti cm possono aggiungere ad ogni passo di corsa?
@SagasuRunning Жыл бұрын
That depends on the runner and their mechanics. The effect would be similar to a Vaporfly.

@SagasuRunning Жыл бұрын
@@emmezero Yes, I can see this, a few mm. My own experiment with lengthening my stride in the Asics Metaspeed Sky+ gave me about 6-12cm, more with cadence over 185. But I’m not an elite and more form has alot of room for improvement. So an elite running gaining a few mm on their efficient and optimized form makes sense. (Spero che questo si traduca per te in italiano).

Very interesting indeed, imo dual foam setups are way to go, best recent examples boston 12, adios 6-8, magic speed 3 or deviate nitro 2 - all my dual foam shoes from in my rotation and all of them at the top of my go to list Aa per rods not sure, in my pro 2 - they either broken or moving notintentionaly - noise coming from 1 shoe.. in pro 3 is still fine but shoe has only 100km, all fine in prime x 1 - this one seens to be like indestructible tank of tge shoe lol
@SagasuRunning Жыл бұрын
I agree on the dual density foam thing… though the Magic speed 3 is single foam (all FfBlast+, but an AMAZING shoe). The best example of a dual-density foam shoe is the Superblast, Asics really nailed something magical there. I’ve heard of the rods moving around in the AP2 and causing the cavity they are on to stretch slightly, causing a clicking sound, even if the rod is intact. I’ve not seen it with the AP3. The PX1 does seem like a tank… for sure.
@velloceti6898 Жыл бұрын
I imagine it would be quite difficult to manufacture, but perhaps Adidas could achieve the setup of the PXS2 with winged rods encasing the LSEvo foam (some rods go over the puck, others go under). Thus, making a 2-plate shoe into a single plate shoe. I pity the engineers tasked with that design, but it is a path to a legal version of the PXS2.
@SagasuRunning Жыл бұрын
I would guess that would still be considered multiple plates by world athletics. Interesting concept though. Manufacturing would be a challenge for sure.

Do you think upcoming Pro 4 might have some key takeaways from EVO? Great video as usual!
@SagasuRunning Жыл бұрын
It is very unclear as to what (or if) the AP4 will be. If its just the upper update we have seen then no. If it comes out next year, possibly, probably the geometry change first, but not the foam.

I’ve found dual foam shoes to be working very well as of late for myself. The ASICS Superblast is a prime example. I’m curious to see brands explore this more in the next year or two. It seems there are a few on the way.
