Everything that we called an object has a form and all forms have a beginning, a middle and an end. So every thing that has a form is actually a process and it is in time. But consciousness has no form. You can't see it, you can't touch it, you can't smell it, you can't taste it, because it has no form and because it has no form it can't have a beginning, a middle or an end. From where does consciousness comes from? The answer is it always is. So consciousness is formless has no boundaries, is not in time,is fundamental,is infinite. Consciousness does not comes from anywhere and does not go anywhere. It is timelessly now, not subject to birth and death.

Its bigger than that. every living thing is consciousness experiencing itself through all modes of knowing. even seemingly nonliving things like stars, planets, trees

Asking the same question; So bringing up the topic of death, where does our consciousness go at our bodily death ? And In relation to this, do we see our loved ones after our bodily death? (in the same way they were with us in our human form). THANKS DEEPAK, EXCELLENT TALK. (In the next life form, Maybe Deepak will be my neighbour or my brother!) HA!

Birth and death of experiences are happening all the time. Thoughts are born and dies, feelings are born and dies sensations are born and dies, perceptions are born and dies but that which is projecting the experiences, the formless being is not subject to birth and death. It does not dies because it was never born. So when you shift your elegance from the dream to that which is dreaming, you are free. You realized that only the formless is real and that is you before me manifest in a form. So we are the formless being eternally manifests as form and phenomenon. This is what it means to have the fullness of the experience but not be bond by it, have the fullness of the experience but not be imprisoned by it. To be imprisoned by experience is called the prison of karma.

So everything that we called physical reality, the world, the universe, these are modifying activities of consciousness as form and phenomenon. So every form is a phenomenon and every phenomenon is a modification of consciousness. The form and phenomenon are in time. Consciousness modifies itself into experience eternally in what we called ever present now. So form and phenomenon are modifications of the formless. They go together. So why is this important? This is important because we confuse the form and phenomenon which are the projection of consciousness, we confuse them with fundamental reality which is formless consciousness. Then we not only get confused them, we attached our-self to the form and phenomenon and we say that is me. This body is me, this house is mine. We attach our-self and we grasp that which is ungraspable.

The attributelessness of consciousnes is in contrast with the (yours? borrowed from other authors?) claim that it has ability to form an image or ability to draw on some data. Another mechanism is involved - Imagining draws concepts from memories that were stored in unconscious mind. The newborn baby couldn't imagine anything, its library of concepts doesn't contain data storage that "grows in time" while consciousness is (as assumed) not bound by time. Consciousness is out of this world (beyond concepts) . Idea like "imagining" is a human construct from "mind" domain of unconscious and superconscious.

If, as Stephen Hawking believed before he died, that the universe always existed, then consciousness also always existed. No creator ... no souls ... no spirits ... just nature ... with lots and lots of suffering, and some joy, and no need to think that humans are at all special.

It is written in Genesis by Moses the Prophet that (1) God formed man (Adam) from the dust of the Earth (Science tells us that some heavy elements came from ancient Star dust). God breathed into his nostrils the (2) "Breath of Life" and man became (3) a living Soul. Three things are mentioned. The dust, the Breath of Life and the Soul. For premise two I suggest we read from Solomon in Ecclesiastes 12. The dust will return to the Earth and the Spirit (Breath of Life) returns to God (Allah in Arabic) who gave it. The Spirit gives Life, Light and Love. These three things would be another sermon and the Soul also another sermon IMHO.
