Daniel Murphy territory? C’mon, Harp. I love Daniel Murphy, and he had an amazing postseason in 2015, but Lindor is a significantly better baseball player than Murphy. What Lindor did this season and how he’s played in clutch moments and led this team is legendary.

Murphy is a real lowball of a comp. Murphy may have had a more individually dominant first two series of a playoff run, but Lindor carried the team through nearly their entire season, he is a vastly superior player (hitting and fielding), and he’s a more complete leader on the field, in the clubhouse and in the media than Murphy. Given that criteria, there might not be a good comp. If they win it all, he rockets past Hernandez into Seaver land. Nimmo is already more of an all- time Met than Murph, and I don’t think it’s close. No diss to Murph, but most of his Mets tenure was middling and pretty frustrating. What a great ride that postseason was, though.
