So, where do you think Rooney ranks as one of England's all-time greats? Is he England's greatest ever player?
@Batmanthe3rd6 жыл бұрын
COPA90 I think a lot of people get confused with the international Break and England. They choose not to watch England because the international break is ‘boring’ well why? So an FA Cup replay is boring as fuck you’d still watch your club? So why’s it any different to watching England? Support the nation, not UEFA or FIFA! I watch England in friendlies, qualifiers, Euros and the World Cup. I can’t see why some people just support England during the World Cup. That’s not what being a fan is

Salutations from Denver, Colorado. Claudio Rianeri’s assistant from FC Nantes, Carlo Cornacchia, was my club soccer coach from ages 13-15 at Colorado Storm. When Leicester won the league, Rianeri phoned Coach Carlo after one of our training sessions and I nearly lost it. It was madness. It’s crazy how much of our world is connected through the beautiful game. Rianeri and Carlo’s footballing philosophy is of the highest class, all bias aside. Fulham is in good hands.

VAR Maybe. I'm not dead against the idea of VAR, but I believe that it needs a good referee for it to be of any use. There's a reason why it looked great at the World Cup, but God awful whenever used in England and that is because the referees in this country are terrible. The World Cup worked as you had good refs who could admit their mistakes, meanwhile you look at the Liverpool vs Chelsea came in the League Cup, and you're having offside goals allowed as the ref didn't want to admit he was wrong.

VAR IN Football has become a game of money. Winning games and titles makes a lot of it. So if they have the means so decrease the amount of wrong decisions being made, it's only fair that they use it. It's also a lot more frustrating to lose a match to a misjudgement from a ref than seeing that the ball was actually indeed behind the goal-line.

VAR is a must have addition for the PL, its better than the joke ref game changing decisions we have to deal with and will promote a fairer style of play with less cynical fouls. There will inevitably be teething problems, but will be ironed out in time. Next step bring in a mandatory (small) portion of safe standing for the PL stadiums to improve the atmosphere.

For me, VAR in. Coming from New Zealand I watch a lot of rugby which has had a video referee for years. It makes decisions better and the right call is made. It is not going to be perfect right away as the referees get used to using it, but if it is implemented now in the Prem, by the time the next World Cup rolls round I think it will be a positive for the sport overall.
@HarshkumarSinghhks226 жыл бұрын
The only thing concerning about VAR is the knowledge referees have about it. Most of the times refs don't trust the technical team like they trust their linesmen. It's a great tool which will reduce controversies if the refs apply it well.
@theolodder88716 жыл бұрын
Think VAR could be good if they used in the same way tennis challenge works so a team can only use it 3 times a game so then there’s still fair play but doesn’t have everybody stopping for anything the ref says against them
@collinwhitehead6 жыл бұрын
Can’t believe people are VAR out. Sure it takes away from the momentum of the game but it’s needed. I’d rather always be right than sometimes wrong, it eliminates any controversy and human error. Good move

VAR In. Ever since VAR was introduced to our domestic league (Czech 1st league), the number of really weird or controversial calls went drastically down, without the game being stopped for minutes on end. Since it was introduced, I've only seen about 3 or 4 VAR calls that held the game up for over 5 minutes, anything else just gets double-checked quickly by the VAR and either confirmed as okay or there's a different angle for the main ref to see and a new call is recommended. The code of ethics for VAR and it's results make the game feel more balanced and just. The feeling of a VAR-confirmed good call is about thousand times better than the uncertainty of a terrible call that sparks another bloody argument in the football media. Best thing about VAR is in it's simple goal: VAR isn't there to tell the main ref what to do, but to offer him a second look and a recommendation that the ref doesn't have to accept.

IMO: 1. Charlton 2. Rooney 3. Moore This is just for playing for the NATIONAL team, i believe that there are players who rank higher than rooney as players, but those guys never really shone for the national team, players like Scholes. But Charlton IMO is the greatest player to ever play for England both Internationally and at club level.

I sit on the fence for VAR. World cup VAR was done really really well. A-league VAR (the football league in Australia) is nothing less than a joke, takes 2-5 minutes to make a decision and sometimes they are not entirely accurate. VAR is not the issue, it's more how it is implemented!
