1 Peter 1:22-25 New International Version 22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.[a] 23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, 25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.”[b] And this is the word that was preached to you.

can a person become a christian without being baptized?

No. One cannot. Also, Baptism is not as per the teachings of Augustine. True Baptism is as per scriptures. Infant Baptism is a religious tradition just to keep the flock in a particular church. If we are to do it properly, we can regard the infant baptism as dedicated. It is never a real Baptism. Real Baptism comes when we are of age. (Mathew 3:13) Jesus showed us. Baptism is not a covenant or a sign of God people. Baptism is an act for repentance and forgiveness of sin and to be reborn. Check John the Baptist who was the first person to call people to baptism. He simply called for repentance to remit sin. He cannot yet perform the water purification for Jesus has not yet died. After Jesus death, it becomes the perfect way for water purification. (Refer number 19). The sprinkle of animal blood mixed with water is the sprinkle of Jesus blood on the cross. Then first it requires a person to know the sprinkle of what Jesus did on the cross which will sprinkle our hearts then we go and wash ourselves which is the fully water immersion baptism i.e. the true Baptism. The church infant baptism is just a ticket to the membership of the church. It is not the real Baptism. (refer Number 19/Leviticus 14: law of purification) definition of baptism after the death of Christ is: First know to understand and to know the identity of Christ. Repentance of sin And it comes through faith and believes what has been heard. While we are babies, we don't have anything as such. And most biased Arguments are Act 10:44 . It explicitly says those who hear the word of God and receive the Holy spirit and speak in tongues. Do babies speak in tongues if yes then we can continue infant baptism??. But no baby cannot speak. It would be insane to think that babies can speak in tongues. Further, Then Peter said, who can stop these from receiving the water baptism who have recieved the Holy Spirit just as we have? It stands invalid to take this scripture and to enforce infant baptism for the baby cannot speak yet. So it is the duty of every parent to remind their children when they are of understanding and of age to take the true fully immersed baptism. Just like Jesus parents it was their duty to get Jesus circumcision at eight days old.(Judaism way, the covenant to make them people of God. And they are God's inheritance. But we are merely gentiles crafted who need to come to God through Jesus by faith and believe and be baptized.). Reminder. Do not confuse baptism and covenant. The covenant of genesis 17 is not at all related to baptism. The new covenant that Christ gives is in 22:20 which is related to Exodus 24:8. Genesis 17 is completely in a different context. It is for the inheritance of God "chosen people" which don't require faith or belief or repentance. It was a covenant given at that time to make them God people. So coming to Baptism it is critically required for one to become a Christian also as such for those who can do it. Rare cases like a man on death bed, or old age who suddenly believed in Jesus, in such cases, his belief alone that is the sprinkle of Christ sacrifice in his heart is enough to save him from damnation. Hope I didn't cause confusion but present as much as possible the clarity of the scriptures. 🙏

@rishanborrymbai1104 Your ideology is very flawed, and your exegesis is not great either. The video explains biblical baptism. The spiritual sense of acts 10 w Peter and Cornelius is that God filled the gentiles with his spirit to symbolize acceptance into salvation, refutting the claims of the 'Judeaizers' (if I spelt that right😅). That was an extraordinary means of confirmation, not baptism. But all who listened were baptised. There ar extraordinary means of baptism, but in all cases, there must be a desire.

What is it about baptism? Why do they come back? Why don't they stay? It is a false hope, they think if they are baptized they will go to heaven. If baptism will take us to heaven, then Jesus died in vain.

Baptism never took anyone to heaven. It is a symbol of Christs death, burial, and resurrection. We are baptized into the names of God. Biblical baptism was done to believers. The Holy Spirit was given upon belief, regeneration, and that isn’t arguable. The Gentiles, in Acts, were given the Holy Spirit before they were Baptized. Infant Baptizm wasn’t done until people started wrongly equating it with salvation. Since infants and children would often die young, people back then hurried to get them baptized. Sprinkling, instead of actual submersion (baptize means to submerge) started because it was easier and less cruel than submerging infants in the river. It was never intended for infants. Only for believers.

1 Peter 3 21 Whereunto baptism being of the like form, now saveth you also: not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the examination of a good conscience towards God by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It literally says baptism saves us
@shawnglass108

@@sleepystar1638 , If it did it would be contradicting many other scriptures and Peter, personally, knows that it isn’t Baptism that saves because it was the gentiles being saved and receiving the Holy Spirit, before they were Baptized, that gave him evidence that God was saving the Gentiles. Thankfully, though, we don’t have to guess at what Peter means in this verse because he clarifies that for us with the phrase “not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience.” While Peter is connecting baptism with salvation, it is not the act of being baptized that he is referring to (not the removal of dirt from the flesh). Being immersed in water does nothing but wash away dirt. What Peter is referring to is what baptism represents, which is what saves us (an appeal to God for a good conscience through the resurrection of Jesus Christ). In other words, Peter is simply connecting baptism with belief. It is not the getting wet part that saves but the “appeal to God for a clean conscience”
