Hey Gina! Nice to see you. I am 54 and grew up an atheist like most Australians. God found me during Covid when I found myself working in a really bad neighborhood in south LA following a very boujee career in finance. It took me a while to get used to my situation but it is undeniable god was with me the whole time and is still with me every day. I’m happy about it. My mum is disgusted- and that’s her problem. They weren’t there, they didn’t see, they didn’t experience what I did, so in my mind they don’t get to judge. I’m happy for you. ❤

There comes a time when we all have to take a look at our life and decide what is best for us as we move forward towards the winter years...some stay stagnant, some in their small world of being right and some of us who want to live in the best possible life possible with the years we have left in an awareness that is right for us...the trick is to do it with respect, kindness and dignity to others who are on a different path moving towards the same goal. I wish you all the best and hope you find what you are looking for as you follow this path of learning and exploring ❣
Hi Gina! I'm a believer too and it makes me feel happy and safe. I also find that praying helps me in several ways, but I don't go to Church either - I tend to find peace in my faith at home where I feel the most safe. I received your beautiful minis a few weeks ago and I'm now caking them up for a striped tank top! I love your podcasts and I can't believe I didn't know you were in San Antonio - I live about 30 minutes outside the city and definitely would have "stalked" you - in a good way of course! Just to meet you - the woman who creates the beautiful "specials" and Buddy's mom would have been amazing. Maybe next time! Hugs from Texas! ♥

Gina I met you last October at Cake. We hugged chatted and I sensed a softness in you that did not used to be in your podcasts. You exude peace and joy 53:08 when you used to seem lost and conflicted. Almost angry at life at times. Your new found faith shows. You have direction and answers and hope. Fantastic! Someone might just seek some knowledge for themselves having watched this. I share your faith but also think that differences is what makes the world go round and keeps us from being boring and we can celebrate the uniqueness in all of us including faith. And love our friends as they change and grow as humans. We need to accept each other for who we are and people that can’t accept you as you continue to grow and mature don’t deserve you as their friend. There are enough knitters and yarnies out there if some leave so be it. Keep shining keep smiling keep growing keep maturing keep knitting and most of all keep loving!!! Much love, and complete acceptance, ❤❤❤ marie

Hi Gina! I knit my socks on dpns. To avoid ladders I occasionally alter the number of stitches on each needle. For simplicity's sake lets say I have 60 stitches divided on my three needles. If I see a ladder forming I will knit the 20 stitches from needle 1 and then keep going and knit 1 or 2 stitches from needle 2 onto needle 1. It changes where the break between needles occurs, and eliminates the ladder. You do have to reorient the stitches to their original position when you come to the heel and toe but for the leg and foot it really helps.
@ginasknitclub6 ай бұрын
I’ve tried DPN’s, changing up the stitch counts occasionally… I’ve literally tried every thing. 😭😭😭

I have found for myself using dpn's, I always knit the first 3 stitches tightly on the start of a dpn and then knit normally on rest of that needle, it stopped my laddering. @@ginasknitclub

Just watched your latest video and was mesmerized listening to your testimony. I was raised in the Christian church but as an adult had struggled with my faith and believing. Don't want to make this super long but after a life changing event 16 years ago, my faith went out the window and I felt abandoned by God if He did exist. Then 4 years ago an event happened that could only have come thru God. Looking back during the 12 years of doubt and struggle, I realized God had been growing me, making me stronger and a better person, enabling me to truly appreciate the BLESSING that was in store for me. I now live in amazement every single day. I love seeing all the yarny things and travel chat, but this episode really struck a cord. Thank you for sharing that journey. This was an amazing visit with you. The knits and yarn were amazing and I’m kicking myself for not jumping on the yak/Suri summer special. Next time. The Christianity journey is an interesting one. While I totally believe, I don’t feel I need a specific church to go to every Sunday. I try to apply the teachings I had early on every day. I’ve been disappointed by churches along the way. I’m good enjoying my own path. Stay on your path! 38:25

So happy to hear that you have come to a relationship with Jesus! As soon as you showed the C S Lewis book, I began to wonder. I takes courage to proclaim your faith in a public way these days but so very important. Thank you for sharing your journey with everyone.

@@ginasknitclub I didn’t know if it was appropriate to share a KZbin church but I just felt like I needed to share that with you. We also stopped going to church here in Missouri. I’m this small town we have about 25 churches. In Jersey we had that many bars in a small town lol… 😘

Your journey to faith is really beautiful. I was raised in the Christian church and I had some near death experiences that showed me how present God is in my daily life as my creator, savior, and protector. As an adult, its definitely become more about faith than religion - I always say religion is mostly man made (man’s interpretation of God and specific “worship” practice) but faith is always just about what’s between an individual and God. I hate how Christians, especially in our country, have weaponized the religion. It’s a shame. But for me, knowing where I’m going when I die, and providing me a map (the Bible) in how to live as a moral person, is the best part. Loved hearing about your trips! Btw- are you doing Rhinebeck this year? Always love your podcast. ❤ and you. 😘

Gina, you are very brave to post this. I support you in your journey, mine was similar to yours. Yes, you will find people that you thought were true blue friends, and all along they were not. A true friend will not leave you, desert you, cancel you. A true friend will support you, lift you up. Just remember that. To quote Billy Joel (find people of all kinds who) "love you just the way you are!" Hugs.

So good to catch your podcast. Love the knits, the yarn, and your testimony. Share it all! I agree that church can be hard to get into but the way I see it is pastors are humans and as Capable of sin as anyone. You’d like to think they’d somehow be closer to God and better, but they’re human. Knowing that has helped me be able to trust again. Blessings to you!

You can always watch church online if you don’t feel comfortable going in person. Grace and peace to you, Gina.
