Hi, my friends ✨ I went into an alcohol & drug treatment centre after a long battle with addiction and am now in recovery - life is so, SO much better because of that. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to share this with you! I'm very new to sobriety and learning more every single day, this is where I'm at right now, feeling beyond grateful and truly proud 💛

Meg, how incredibly brave to post this. I've watched you content for years and did not even know or suspected anything at all. Which just shows we have no idea what anyone is going through in life and to always be kind. Your amazing, your content has always been so inspiring and feel so proud of you for opening up on your battle. Everyone has their own struggles and I know you will help lots of people with this post for various reasons. So glad your doing so well, enjoy this new chapter and always be proud of yourself. Xxx

Thank you so much Emily, your comment brought tears to my eyes - you're so thoughtful and compassionate ❤️ we really do have no idea what people are dealing with, such an important thing to remember. I truly hope it does help, I know how relentless addiction is and had a gut instinct that this was the right thing to do so fingers crossed! All my love to you x

Beyond proud of you, Meg. I've silently watched for years, but I felt the need to comment on this. As the (adult) child of an alcoholic, I've seen firsthand what alcohol can do to a person (and their loved ones). I'm overwhelmingly encouraged by your bravery to get help. This impacts you and countless others. You are amazing. Cheering you on every step of the way. Thank you for your vulnerability. It means more than you'll ever know.

Absolutely floored by your comment April, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, genuinely 🧡 so sorry you had to go through that, alcohol addiction is a truly relentless, evil thing. Wish I could give you a big hug and tell you in person how much your words and support means to me, thank you! x

I feel like often people won't nesescarily understand how hard it is to break any form of addiction(shopping, drugs, alcohol, caffeine, sex, excercise, as well as another kind that I wont mention as i don't want to upset anyone who might have struggled with the last one which I still continuously struggle with) until they've been in that position themselves. Thank you for sharing this 💜💜

This popped up on my KZbin home screen and oh my gosh I'm so glad for once the algorithm worked this time :) Super inspiring and wonderful to see someone being so open, honest but also clearly setting boundaries. You've clearly been through a lot, but I feel v proud of you and for your nearly 60 days sober. As someone who also has a chronic illness, sometimes I think especially when we may not 'look' like the kind of people to go through these struggles, it's even more important to speak about them. If you can. Because it breaks down the stigma of disease only affects a 'type' of person, when it doesn't. And truly we need to be kind to every person we meet because we do not know what trouble they are facing everyday. Sorry for the ramble, and you defo gained a sub in me

I'm super late, so I'm very sorry Meg! Today, I'm catching up on your channel! First of all, I want to say that I'm so sorry for all you've been through. From your PTSD struggle, to becoming addicted to alcohol, you've been through it. But, girl, I'm so so proud of you! Knowing you had a problem, and seeking help showed so much strength on your part! You're so strong, and powerful, and you're showing others that go through this same thing that they can get through it, too! I'm thankful that you got help, and you're becoming healthier. You're giving yourself what you so deserve! And I couldn't be more proud of you! Keep going, sweet girl! 💪🏻✨💋

Wow Meg, so proud and so much love for you! 💛Every time you open your heart to us I just feel so much respect and care and love for you and it is incredible to see the most amazing community online that you have built! Because of you this is a safe space, for others and for you to share and be honest 💗❤ I hope you can see this and feel this comfort and love. Addiction is not a topic many feel people can share on and it will mean the world to those suffering with it that there is a safe space to sit in online and learn and feel support. xxx

Sooo kind of you Ruby-Leigh, thank you ever so much! I definitely do see and feel your comfort and love, like I already knew in my heart that you would all be so amazingly kind about this but you have blown me away yet again - what absolute GEMS ✨ definitely, it's not easy to speak about so if I can be that voice in any small way then what a beautiful thing, it makes me feel like I have a purpose again 💗 which will in turn be sooo helpful to my recovery so the whole thing is just unreal, I'm so grateful! All the love in the world to you 🧡

My pleasure, thank you so much for watching Katie! My best friend said the same thing, she had absolutely no idea and said it has helped her realise that the picture of an 'addict' in her head may not be correct, addiction definitely doesn't discriminate and nobody is immune - just so glad to be on the right path now, hope to stay on it forever 🧡 definitely, I think a Q&A would be a good video idea! x

Hi 😊 I’ve never commented before but I felt compelled to after watching this video. My father has been where you have been, he went to rehab almost 6 years ago and I am so proud of him for continuing to be in recovery. It really helped me listening to your experience as I don’t often talk to him about it as I am too close to the situation if that makes sense. You have done absolutely amazing and you should be so proud of yourself. Thank you for sharing your experience 😊

I am so grateful to have seen this. I too have been suffering trying to cope with PTSD and general life upsets. Thank you so much Sierra, such a huge step to share this but a necessary one for me personally, I'm so glad I did it as the response has been amazing 💗 absolutely - someone said to me that they watched this and thought it may be a great thing for young women to see someone setting clear boundaries for themselves and basically saying 'I'm not gonna stand for anyone treating me like xyz' and I hadn't considered that, it made my heart really happy! I’m so glad you shared this Meg and I’m sure it will help lots of people to know they’re not alone 💕 I’m happy that you got the help you needed. I had a mental health crisis (some call it a nervous breakdown, depends on your preferred terms) in August of last year after my depression and OCD worsened in the pandemic and I had a voluntary stay in a psychiatric hospital for 5 weeks. I can relate to treatment being a life changing experience and meeting incredible people. I met some beautiful people who all had heartbreaking stories but ultimately there is something amazing about all being there to work on ourselves and get better. The staff too were really great. I’m in recovery now and it’s very hard at times but I’m hoping one day it will all be worth it. I blog about my experiences to help do my part to raise awareness and reduce stigma, and I’m sure others will really benefit from any videos you decide to make to help out people with similar issues to the ones you’ve faced. I’ve watched your videos since 2014, back in the days when you lived at your parents and bought the big Bridget jones granny pants by accident in Primark (😆😆 hope you remember that!) and I’m so pleased for you that you are on your road to recovery. 💛
