My relative worked as a security guard in NYC, where a lot of hotels were turned into shelters, some kicking out regulars living there , and the amount of violence he uncovered , encountered from sex trafficking, drug abuse and domestic violence, is astounding. He was only 20 and quit after having to many physical encounters and just seeing bloody scenes. No one is speaking about these issues!

Heres why they are processed. In other countries, where things are bad, if the people rise up against their leaders, they most likely get put in prison or killed. So, these people, are claiming Asylum, and lie to our officials, that their lives are in danger. As soon as they claim Asylum, Border agents need to protect them under the statues of the law. Then their "claim" is investigated, and a decision is made, if they stay or go back. Which can take 3-4 years or more.

I got this lottery where the winning prize was a green card . Its called EDV lottery. I was in Nepal. I was working in a supermarket where I was being paid 50$ a month. And I was the lucky ones. Most folks like me in Nepal would feel lucky to go to Gulf Nations to work in 50 ( celcius) degree heat. The one who couldn't even go to Gulf go to India to work as guards or in apple orchards in Himanchal. Dude my mother sold her golden ear ring so I could buy a used 125 cc Indian Bajaj motorcycle so I don't have to travel in a minivan called microbus. Imagine a Toyota Sienna but it carries 20 folks not including the driver. That is our mode of transportation. Now i have a decent house in Dallas suburb, a nice SUV , a little chihuahua, two kids. We go on vacation to Mexico, Colorado and sometimes even to Nepal. This was beyond my wildest dreams had I stayed back in Nepal and not won that lottery.
