The US has a system by which Interstates are organized, relevant here is North-South traveling interstates increase from I-5 to I-95 going from West to East, I-35 is to the West of Huston and I-45 is next to Huston. Assuming in the Xenoblade universe a I-36 was built between the two as the Huston metro grew, it is also possible a I-236 auxiliary route was built to connect Huston to I-36. EDIT: In Addition East-West Highways increase from I-10 to I-90 from South to North, as the highway right below I-10 (which passes through Huston) is I-8 (in Cali and Arizona) any new East-West highway to the south of Huston could be a broken continuation of I-8, hence the Highway 8 section of Morytha. However there are I-90 signs in Morytha, complicating this further, if we take those signs as above the others in determine location Alrest being over Chicago is likely, however Space Elevators need to be near the equator so the I-90 signs need ot be disregarded as its the Northernmost Interstate, which is the opposite of where a space elevator would be put

The base of the space elevator is called the Megafloat Base. A Megafloat is a large artificial island. Due to that and the similarities to New LA in XCX, my thoughts are that the Land of Morytha is a United States city built on an artificial island in the middle of the ocean.

Idk how this was missed, but right next to the I-236 sign there is a sign that specifically shows I-90, which means this city is either Seattle, Chicago, Cleveland, or Boston. My best guess would probably be Chicago or Boston.

You put a lot of thought into this, and I have to say you served up a lot of food for thought. And while you may indeed me right, I have an issue with two of your assumptions. 1) The assumption that there had to be a major city already there to start building from. While that certainly would be a convenience, I don't think it's absolutely necessary that it be true, as there have been very large cities in the real world that have been built up very quickly from practically nothing. One is Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, which was only founded in 1956 and now has a metropolitan area of over 4 million people. Another more recent example is Naypyidaw, Myanmar, which began being built only in 2002 and now has almost a million people. Planned cities can be founded and grow rapidly if there is a major purpose around them to bring people in, and the Beanstalk would be a damn good reason. 2) The assumption that Morytha must be near the present-day ocean. The problem is, Klaus' little experiment destroyed the surface of the Earth practically everywhere except the Beanstalk's structures themselves and the part of Morytha where the Beanstalk was rooted. The city ends abruptly past a certain point, which strongly suggests not just a ravaging of life or people around that spot, but of *land*, too. Portals had opened all over the place and sent the rest of the world into other dimensions. I went into this explanation thinking that it could no longer be assumed that the Earth's previous configuration of land and water still existed as it did before the incident. And while I'm at it, I'll challenge a third assumption: 3) The assumption that Morytha is somewhere in the United States as we know it today. Yeah, it probably is somewhere in the United States. But the borders of countries shift and change over time. Countries come and go. Systems rise and fall. Now, I'm not going to *promote* any issues of geopolitics, as that is not what this theory is about, but rather just about what *could* conceivably happen a century from now depending on how the winds of fate blow. See, only a century ago, the United States was an aspiring empire, and still controls some of its acquired overseas possessions like Puerto Rico and Guam, while having since accepted the independence of some much larger former possessions like the Philippines, which at one point was home to about 1 in 8 United States nationals and was formerly home to one of the United States Mints even though the Philippines never gained statehood. The U.S. today by and large does not like to *think* of itself as an empire, but in the future that attitude could change with any number of justifications or rationalizations. It is not impossible that an England that has increasingly fallen under exclusive U.S. dominion and has alienated most of its other traditional allies and nearby neighbors (not so unthinkable in these times) could eventually be annexed by the U.S. within a century. I say "England," because the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland as it exists now may very well not exist by then, or even ten years from now. So if this theory is plausible, it's not impossible that the Beanstalk is rooted in England.

So I'm late to the party here, but I think you could extrapolate more from the highway designation. 236 indicates a loop route off I36, which would be an east/west route. I36 was proposed as a designation for future I42. That's in North Carolina. Specifically it terminates near Raleigh/Duram. I'm going to ignore the Central City reference as that could be an official name or just a designation (similar to "downtown") and, anyhow, we're positing a large future buildup. So say there's an expansion of growth in the research triangle with a particular focus on aerospace. So let's say I42 is actually I36 and that the World Tree gets built near that. You'd be in NC.

Houston would probably be the best location in the US; however it doesn't really have to be in the continental United States. United States territories also use the road signs of the US. Maybe in this Earth the Untied States kept the Panama Canal Zone (and maybe expanded on it to the point it became a state). On a side note the city does have some pretty high speeds for the road, IIRC one of the speed limit signs is 77, (they probably meant this for KPH not MPH)

The Interstate Highway System actually has a pattern to its numbering, using that pattern, I-36 and an auxiliary I-236 would actually be near Huston, so the highway sign actually supports the Huston theory. Also Texas does have higher speed limits (like 80 or 85 mph) but your right 77 was probably an accidental kph since American speed limits are always a multiple of 5.

It is heavily implied that Alvis is the third Aegis, though it is not confirmed; we would need to wait for a third game to find out I suppose. It is also theorized that the Conduit is actually an object from previous Xeno games called the "Zohar" essentially being a gateway through time and space of unknown origin and therefore coming with tremendous amounts of energy; specifically the right amount to even create a new universe, as seen with Klaus. It makes sense as well, given how the Zohar disappears at the end of Xenosaga, and from there it would go into the world of Xenogears, into the world of Xenoblade.

No, the Island at the end of the game is not in the Carribean. It's much more likely to be in Hawaii. You are quite correct that the closest ocean to Houston is in the Pacific, but the Carribean Seas is part of the Atlantic. The nearest islands to Houston are the Hawaiian islands.

I know how to answer this. It has to be on the equator due to the fact if it wasn't a geosynchronous equatorial orbit, the world tree would be stressed and snapped due to this sinusoidal pattern the orbit of the low earth space station. I kind of doubt the sign texture is anything other than a random texture and that some artist just put it in arbitrarily. The beanstock/world tree and station at the top is actually just a remake of Fifth Jerusalem from Xenosaga Episode 3, and they seem to have just liked the idea. The culture, people, and technology highly suggests Europe as the location, not the US. I'd say at best it's a European location, but that the US had some presence there.

Linkchu You use the rotation of the earth to 'pull' the elevator so that there is not ant overall force acting on, which is why they can be built so tall. If you build it off the equator the pulling will want to pull it in a direction parallel to the plane of the equator, which is not opposite to the way gravity is pulling it. This means that the elevator would be pulled over by the resultant force acting on it, causing it to fall over. So yeah, you have to build them on the equator. (Sorry if my explanation isn't great... I can explain it better if I used mathematical notation?)

Sorry this is so late but I have to disagree with you, Luxin. in the panning credits scene after Azurda exits the rift, I swear that on the second point of land in that scene, the horn of the bionis is visible. this means that Rex and them have arrived in Shulks world not where you claim. As for when the low orbit station and the space elevator where build, I think that the answer lies within Xenoblade chronicles X as we only find out about ONE of the two factions that "Destroyed" Earth. That still leaves one unknown force, a force I would like to beleave is the Artifices. if I'm right then that would place the space elevators construction between 2023 and 2053, which is the time period that Elma lived on earth before the earths "destruction".

Alrest cant be on USA, there are 3 big towers (as Radhamatis) in the Ecuador of the world, Radhamantis should be a artificial island somewhere in the pacific ocean, because of the "megafloat" condition, but The Conduit / The Gate / The Zohar, was founded in África, and i see a little imposible to transport that kind of artifact so far from its "founded land"

Alrest is NOT Earth, you find out as much when you get to the satellite station. This is one of the many planets colonized by Earthlings FAR after the events of Xenosage.

Alrest has Earth's moon, the final level of XC1 takes place in Klaus's memory and is literally a trip through the solar system, and after cursory glance at the XS timeline I don't think something like this could fit in well in 20XX AD, though it might be possible in 20XX TC

Solar systems could be identical, since the universe is infinite. It may seem very likely that Alrest is Earth, but it's not. Also, the Xeno games are loosely linked by some kinda story arc, but they're not really direct sequels. Also, isn't there an alternate version of the universe created by Klaus?

1. What would be the point of traveling across the galaxy just to visit an IDENTICAL solar system, it would also be impossible to find, prepare, and send at least as many people to go to said planet, build a city, 366 highways, 2 GIGANTIC space stations circling around us and a whole other nation to have some war with giant mechs before the year 2100. 2. You are right in saying that they are not sequels, but i believe that XC1 and XC2 are both setting up a third game with Klaus's experiment as a main driving force for the plot, as it is with XC1 and XC2. 3. The alternate universe that you mentioned IS the endless sea housing the Bionis and Mechonis in XC1, a game where, as Luxin said, has you travel through Klaus's memories through the solar system. However i would like to point out that Klaus said that part of earth was sent to other universes. Now this is the point where you say something like "well how do we know that alrest isn't just part of earth that was sent to another universe" or something like that, well we know this because Radamanthus is still there and in a cutscene it shows that everything inbetween the two parts of the ring of Radamanthus was sent and not Radamanthus itself.
