Ari Folman's animated film, will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival in July.
The film is an animated adaptation written by Ari Folman based on the diary of Anne Frank and suported by the Anne Frank Foundation in Basel.
The film tells the story of Kitty, Anna's imaginary friend, the same girl to whom Anna dedicated all the original diary entries.
Kitty wakes up a year from today at the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, and does not know that more than 75 years have passed since the war ended.
The film follows Kitty as she embarks on a journey across Europe to find out what happened to her friend Anne.
Folman devoted 8 years to the film, and about 200 animators from around the world participated in the production of the animation.
The film combines a unique technique of characters in classic animation and backgrounds built and photographed as miniatures.
