Heres some things to critique about the theory- no hate, just things I noticed. Caroline isn't Chells mother. If you read the Final Hours of Portal 2 it states that GLaDOS was actually romantically in love with Chell meaning Cara Mia Addio was more of a love song than one of a parent to a child. Chell also is Japanese-Brazilian while Caroline is white or at least white passing. And GLaDOS had no idea who Cave or Caroline were and was most likely just saying those lines about her parents as discouragement. Jay Pinkerton in the Official Portal 2 Guide Book also says that Cave and Caroline are not married. They seem to be just very good friends who cared about eachother. They worked with eachother since the 40s and it'd make sense if Cave wanted to get a portrait with his best friend, especially if Caroline was the most hard working one Aperture as he's implied. The Bring Your Daughter to Work Day was also in 1998, Chell was there making her at least 10 years old or younger and Cave died in 1982 with Caroline being uploaded anywhere from 1986-1996 going off of the GLaDOS development stated on an old version of Aperture Science website. It is likely that Doug is her biological/adoptive father, yes, but I don't think Caroline or Cave should be included anywhere in there. Chell also refers to her father and Cave, "Mr Johnson" as two separate people on her science project but Cave was already dead so its possibly someone else she was referring to. Johnson is a very common last name too (which also appears in Half-Life!). Doug was also NOT on the list of test subjects. Hopper is not his last name, his last name is Rattmann. Most times Valve will include other one off names as the names of their actual employees. Doug can also be a common name. Anyways I think thats the end of my rant for now. Sorry for the length and if it seemed harsh at all! I just am a very dedicated Portal fan haha.

Great theroy, but i have one question: When Chell made the Potato batterie, her Writing style seems very childish. but when you see Chell for the first time in Portal 1 (Via the portals) She is alot older. and because we know that hybernation doesnt change alot on youre body (after chell sleeps in portal 2 for a looong time she still looks the same) she must have gotten trapped in Apertue years later. meaning that the "bring youre daughter to work day" was not the day of the incident. Or am i confusing things?

The bring your cat to work day was the day GlaDOS killed the whole of aperture science, bring your daughter to work day was when she went insane, the age think could just be so our pov isnt 1 feet above ground
