Turns out she was in Shanghai this entire time and Kei seem to still have contact with her from the looks of it, not that their relationship are good however as we know why. Also it seems like the mom is whom Kaguya could have become had she still been stuck in her ice queen mode and became more like Unyo.

Yeah, I'll make an update video to this one about Mama. Despite her brief appearance, I think she's one of the most interesting characters in the entire series because of how realistic she is in terms of how some parents value results over all.

Tbh, she's more emotionless than Ice Kaguya and Un'yo (Un'yo showed he had some empathy for Kaguya to some degree). Ice Kaguya felt bad often with how she acted as we see in that arc, and deep down Shirogane saw that she pushed people away since he didn't want to hurt others. But Mama Shirogane is more devoid of empathy.

Hey man, you ended up being quite close! This week is Kei Shirogane’s last chapter, where she catches up with mother since returning home years ago. Mama Shirogane is a highly successful woman post-divorce, with no regrets for her life choices. She tells Kei her husband lost everything because he kept refusing to listen to her advice, with Kei admitting her mother has never been wrong about anything. She explains she could not raise 2 kids, with Miyuki being the kind of child who needed to feel inadequate to become the Stanford student he has become. She has come to ask Kei to come live and study with her at Shanghai again. Kei refuses and explains they did not need to be geniuses or successful, they just needed both parents. She suggests they meet and live after she has become an adult, when they can be equals. The only thing you got wrong is Kaguya, otherwise Kei did everything you predicted would happen!

@@MistaGify I honestly wish there would have befallen her a worse faith.... She left her children because her husband was "too kindhearted" to keep his business afloat....Her whole "Well, it helped him become a better man" is absolute bullshit. It had nothing to do with her! The reason Shirogane started working so hard was because he wanted to be worthy of Kaguya after he saw her save another person life. It was her selfless and quick act that inspired him, not her icequeen persona. She had literally NOTHING to do with his success, and the fact she believes that to be the case is beyond annoying. She deserved to have her egotism and selfish behavior bite her in the ass, but all she got was a few stingy words from her daughter about being a child.... I guess it makes sense for the story, and it isn't like Shirogane really wanted or needed any revenge, but I just hate how easily she gets away with being such a neglectful and terrible mom....

Is that really why she left? Cause Kei seems whip smart and if President is intelligent if he has motivation like being with mc And then does Papagane not signing the divorce papers be because he’s still in love or would that more be to avoid more debt or custody battles or something?

She actually just left Miyuki and his father. She took Kei with her but Kei didn't wanted to leave them and went back with them abandoning her.
