Ya know on God if Denji decides to kill humanity and stuff you can't even blame him. He said that shit day one to Kishibe he'd pick the side that treated him better. And right now humans killed his sister, shoot at him on the street, and are trying actively to imprison or kill or restrain him at all times. Meanwhile Yoru jacked him off and is giving him some booty action and a date which while involving civilian murder, he has considered "fun". And she is up front with her intentions to turn him into a weapon, she isn't hiding behind any lies.

yoshida seemed to be fine with having children sacrificed also he never makes his intentions clear. so honestly not much of a stretch to think he was somehow involved in nayuta's death. edit: I also think denji just kind of finds it hard to really blame attractive women for anything, even makima was someone he couldn't find himself hating despite everything she did so fami might not even register in his brain.

Mirrors/reflections are a running theme in Part 2 as you pointed out with the copies and imposters. Asa/Yoru, Public Safety/Church of Chainsaw Man as reflections of each other. But especially the mirror motif with Aging, who communicates through mirrors and wanted the child sacrifice to be carried out in front of mirrors. I think Fumiko may have a contract with the Mirror or Reflection Devil.

I love the dynamic between Asa & Fumiko even though they've never met. I'm so excited to see what happens now that they've met each other for the first time.

i think the most obvious part about her is that she acts as a foil to yoshida, basically an opposite to him. both have creepy smiles, bodyguards, high school students, mysterious devil abilities, puppets of PS, yet what makes fumiko a foil is what i believe to be that she is PS in the form of a character. she is not of high school age and is way older, her oarents died from an attack that csm didnt save them, and she has intentions of harming denji for the sake of PS, something yoshida didnt do because he cares about denji when he was protecting him unlike fumiko who did so because it's csm. so what sets them apart is yoshida does it because he cares and fumiko doesnt, despite the physical and situational similarities. idk if i put it together right but i think u can see where im going. basically think of her as an evil twin. i think she acts like a teenager too is because she lost that due to her parents dying and being a pawn of PS. the fact she switches personalities and feelings to whoever is favored by PS. she feels like a lost character and sometimes lost characters end up being mysterious and random for that reason.

i’m geeked guys but it’s death she’s the death devil PEEP THE EYES the author has been doing it with all the sisters of the 4 apocalypse devils she’s switch characters often like asta almost like more personality reside in her, most of this rant is all bcs of her eyes the way author draws them he chooses how to draw their pupils and if their dark or have RINGS like the apocalypse devils he draws everyone’s else’s pupils differently even asta when she’s normal not when she’s in war bcs her pupils change, but that could also be why she left nayuta and watches denji so much

However I'm personally very much invested in her character and I really appreciate the video i dislike how many people with "great" analysis just write her off as a poor villian 😭

haven’t finished the vid but i can 100% garuntee u she’s the BPD devil. Fujimoto has talked at length about his love for mentally ill girls. She literally SPLITS both literally and in a psychological sense constantly. Fujimoto is giving the Borderline baddie rep we all need. Absolute cinema.

One thing I’m surprised nobody ever points out with Barem is the significance and symbolism of his devil trigger, as the Flamethrower Hybrid, for some reason his transformation lies within the molar for some reason, you know what else was kept within the molar? Cyanide capsules used by the Germans during WW2, and what did the Germans use on the Jews during WW2? It’s the same thing for Reze as the Bomb-Hybrid as well, how her transformations head is shaped one to one like the Fatman nuke dropped on Nagasaki. As Makima said at the end of part 1, the weapon hybrids are the remains and husks of devils eaten by chainsaw-man, yet continued to live on regardless despite losing their names and true power to Pochita.

I think it’s very obvious that Fumiko is a “fusion” like Asa/Yoru and her devil is OBVIOUSLY the diarrhea devil, Nayuta could smell it and as Makima once said, devils have a great sense of smell. 🤡

I have several theories of my own about Fumiko. I think it’s very likely she is a direct result of the fire devil if not the fire devil herself. We haven’t got to see or learn a lot about the fire devil, but I think the fire devil is likely a shapeshifter of some sort. Which would explain the first imposter chainsaw man we saw earlier. It also gives me hope that maybe sushi Nayuta may have been an impostor as well. The real Nayuta may be being kept as a failsafe to deal Chainsaw Man in case they lost control of him.

Nice video but i think you really really undermined Fumikos antagonism, like the whole movie theater sequence where she sexually assults denji as hes venting his feelings out, and then makes him suck on a devils corpse for her amusement. You also didnt notice many changes in her behaviour, like when you say shes a "Denji fan" rather than a chainsaw man fan, when in her very intreduction she says shes into Denji BECAUSE hes chainsaw man, which she later contradicts. Even when shes talking about wanting to "save" denji, she says she does hate him a little. Her attitude towards him also changes later on, when shes celebrating harvesting his organs while Yoshida is sulking, and sacrifices her body to help kill Pochita

Fumiko wasn't "antagonistic" towards Denji in the theatre scene. She was inappropriate. And she's not alone, Yoshida is her companion in all things so far. Denji could've shut her down. But he thought if he could "get sex" it's fine. It's intentionally more so about Denji's own flaws in personality. He vibes with someone like Fumiko and he enjoys the violence and then also cries about it. You can judge Denji's behaviour as "not good". But that's the kind of character denji is.

@@Hess-b9f I can add to this I strongly theorize that public safety put her up to touch Denji's Weiner and make sexual advances onto him but I honestly hate the up playing of the groping scene because it's just not that deep. It takes intent to make a predatory character if Fumiko was told to grope him and quickly stop as soon as he asked or just bodily implied that he wasn't into it (similar to chapter 137’s, panel 10 hand shrug) then it's really just not that bad since it did cause distress on Denji's part. Not saying it was good but it shouldn't define fumiko's charater. You know a lot of people take that groping scene and makes it seem like Fumiko refused to take her hands off of him and make it seem like it was distressing on Denji's part yunno~ it's like saying she like gave him a full on handjob without his permission......WAIT a minute it's not like we totally see Denji in cough.. cough.. chapter 167 scream to a particular female character that forcefully touched him that he didn't want it in (panel in 17) but the character keeps going until he's docile and soon it progresses to actually sexual act.. (onto us parallel to the iconic philosophical mecha anime panel). “Sure he's obviously happy in the next chapter head down sulking in the alleyway… waiting for new things to come with his relationship” (Yes this was Quoted by a literal KZbinr while others outside the community would/have view that scene as horrific compared to fumiko's scene.) we are obviously wrong fumiko. She's obviously the big bad antagonist with very clear motives to do everything bad and cause chaos because.. well she's the big bad villain. I hope she dies in chapter 190, not like Fujimoto had bigger plans with the big bad villain. This is a shojo anime after all.

@PopGoesMyBall it's not "justifying sexual assault". Rather it's "not infantalizing" Denji as a character. Ya'll gotta actually take his character into account too. Chainsaw Man is not reducing every character to just a "victim". It's painting a picture of IMPERFECT victims and Human desires that lead to traumatizing events. Denji vibed with Fumiko. If fumiko is a sexual assaulter then denji is the kind of character who's fine with it because he only sees her as an opportunity for sex which is a mentality that is terrible. He has inappropriate desires for which he accepts inappropriate things and even chooses to do inappropriate things like choosing to go to a brothel at katana man's suggestion. Chainsaw Man fans needs to accept the complexity of these situations instead of just shutting every discussion down at "sexual assault". That's what fiction is for.
