Where is the 2024 Jeep Gladiator? | Jeep News April 2023

So glad you guys are making the trip down for Jeep Beach. Since we got our Jeeps, my wife and I have probably watched a dozen of your videos (on DRC and elsewhere) for mods and whatnot. You've had a hell of a huge impact in the Jeep community, and it'll be awesome to get to thank you in person (perhaps involving an adult beverage). :) Regarding the Gladiator... Man, I dunno. I remember when it first came out, people kept saying "It' just a JL with a truck bed", and people kept trying to say how it's got this and that thing that's different than a JL, etc. But, It really feels like the Gladiator just inherited a bunch of complications from the JL that wouldn't have happened if they had designed a bespoke Gladiator platform. After owning mine for close to 2 years now, my overwhelming feelings echo exactly what you said in this video. The 3.6L is just inexcusably underpowered for such a big, awkward vehicle. If it's just me, and I punch it, sure it'll push me back in my seat a little bit. If I'm carrying anything even remotely heavy, it just struggles to get going even on flat ground. I can't imagine living near the hills or mountains and having to deal with this. On top of that, you really don't "get the best of both worlds" like people want to say. Yes, you get the bed instead of the storage behind the rear seats. And that sounds great on paper until you realize that you have next to no space in the cab short of the little underseat cubby in the back (which, let's face it, is pretty useless for anything bigger than a grocery bag). Truck beds are nice to have when you need them, and they're a pain in the ass when you don't. I know it'll never happen, but I wish the Gladiator had been Jeep inspired and designed from the ground up. It needs more HP and torque. It needs more storage in the cab. The rear doors also don't need to be angled like the JL rear doors (which restricts access in the Gladiator). The soft top is fucking stupid; there really needs to be a way to get it down behind the seats or at least out of the way so you're not driving around with a giant sail run up the mast. Overall, it's just been an odd experience. Despite everything I like about Jeeps, I am very close to trading my Mojave in for a used TRX. Aside from not being able to take the roof off (which I've never done, even once), it's just a better truck in every sense of the word.

I really hope we don’t lose another Jeep truck due to the Dakota. I had an 89’ MJ that I loved but that series had a short run. Not all to blame on Mopar and the Dakota, MJ’s had some rust issues as well as poor sales. But I hope history doesn’t repeat itself. I love my Mojave Gladiator and I plan to get another once I get this one paid down lower. Great channel, love the content and jealous of the new shop!

I don’t think the gladiator is going anywhere…but I agree, they need to just release the updates at the same time. It makes no sense. And yes the 392 would be amazing!! But for those of us that can’t afford an 80k-100k truck, they need to put the hurricane or at least the 5.7 V8 in it!! I am finally buying my end of the year and would LOVE to see the updates. Come on Jeep!!! Great video as always guys, keep it up!!

Have always loved Jeeps and have owned many. Jeep needs an off road package with lockers front and rear in a base model. As for the Gladiator, it definitely needs more power, whether a Hemi or Hurricane. As for the new grill, from a distance it looks like an old Land Cruiser. I believe they need to keep the seven slat more definitive - it is a Jeep. Lastly, the price has gone crazy, and people are not going to continue to spend that kind of money no matter how much they love their Jeep. Thanks for the updates. Good luck with the new shop.

Got my 2022 Mojave in January and love it. I’ll probably keep it and drop a V8 option in it rather than get rid of it. Would have love a 392 option in one from the factory. I think they’ll keep it the same and use up as much of the parts from the 2023 Wranglers before changing it next year.

I would love to see the 5.7 in the Gladiator ( and would trade up immediately), but unlikely they will make any more moves to add V8s. I wonder if they are delaying the announcement until after the Ranger Raptor and new Tacoma make their splash so the Gladiator doesn't get overshadowed. Also, both those trucks are going to have power numbers that make the Jeep 3.6 feel like a lawn mower engine, so I will be curious to see how they respond given the way the 392 was launched to preempt the Bronco Raptor.

I pulled the trigger and got a good deal on a 2021 Rubicon unlimited. Had a 2011 JKU love the upgrade and didn't see enough reason to wait anymore for the 24 or a Hurricane engine later on maybe.......Keep up the great videos!

Gladiator sales yr 2022 = 77855 2021 = 89712 down 11857 units for 2022. 1st qt 2023 Gladiator sales down 24% from 1st qtr 2022. Wrangler sales from record year 2018 = 240,032 2022 = 181,409. Wrangler sales are being hurt for 2 reasons in my opinion. Obviously the Bronco is gaining popularity and #2 I think the Gladiator is stealing Wrangler sales too. Will they continue Gladiator production - its a coin toss.

Dealers in middle Tennessee have most gladiators marked down quite a bit right now and plenty of deals to be had. Like $8k+ off or more as just listed pricing on the websites. I traded in a 2028 JLU fully loaded sahara for a manual 22 mojave and have zero regrets on it and couldn't be happier. 3 5in lift, 37in yokohama X-AT tires, and a ton of customization to it. Will regear to 4.88s in the future, but not an immediate need. Hopefully jeep is going to start putting some more love towards the gladiator marketing, but they are so deep in bed with the 4xe promotions at this point. They really need to release a 392 version, a 4xe, and a two door option. It's a versatile vehicle and a hell of a lot of fun.

FWIW - Jeep Gladiators are assembled in plant "L" and Jeep Wranglers are assembled in plant "W" - so tooling is not (yet) a concern between the year models... from the VIN - the letter right before the last 6 digits designates the assembly plant.

I now own a 392 Recon XR. I used to have a 2020 granite gray Mojave. Loved the vehicle but if it ever hopes to compete with Bronco Raptor it is going to have to up its game. The Mojave on 35s with front and rear lockers and a swaybar disconnect, spool-valve adjustable performance shocks with a 392, or better yet a hellcat motor would make it unstoppable. They could get 90-100K for it all day. You nailed it. It might not even make good engineering sense but it would probably sell like hotcakes for those who don't know that it would be too heavy to maintain its desert runner chops. I say...just build it. The charger and the challenger cannot corner for crap or maintain traction but they are certainly mass-producing them. I have been a MOPAR man since the early days. My first car was a 1970 Challenger 440 R/T. Muscle cars or in this case Muscle Jeeps never make sense. But then neither do the people who buy them!!

The 2024 392 review shows a 2H knob. Can it be available in 2 High with the full float axle? Also, even with the standard full float, the towing capacity will be the same for the 392 due to the engine's weight.

The Gladiator is in the midsize truck market. They're currently losing that market share. I believe the Gladiator will be gone very soon. You can find 2022 models still on the dealer's lot. I love the Gladiator. However I believe it is very hard for Jeep to keep that going if it's not selling. Simple economics.

not sure the gladiator is coming back. just isn't selling that well unfortunately. it's one of the few vehicles selling under msrp in my area. when dealers can jack up the price on wranglers but not gladiators, they're not going to order them. also, in stock form, other than the Rubicon, they don't look good and that turns off the regular buyers that keep vehicles in stock form.

I have been going between should I get a midsize truck or get a jeep wrangler or jeep gladiator. I love the look, ruggedness of the four door wrangler Rubicon. I also like the bed of the gladiator. I deer hunt and would like to go off road and also for a while off road. I feel The wrangler and gladiator should get more factory accessories and also have options for the hunters that are using these jeeps. With the wrangler not a lot of options how to drive out a deer from the woods unless you buy a basket of sorts. MPG on all jeeps I really feel needs to go upwards. If your wanting to put 37s inch tires, a winch and say a rack or a half rack in bed of gladiator all that weight brings down that mpg. So you may have a great looking jeep, but that mpg will suffer. Jeep needs to work on increasing all the mpg in all their jeeps and increasing the range.

To your point, if they make the new Gladiator 80 or 90k, I will buy the Silverado ZR2 bison; Which has the Desile (that doesn't suck). Frankly, It's sad to see Stalaintis murder a once-great American Brand. Since the French took over Jeep, the legend has become more unreliable and more expensive. They play on our love for our own heritage and serve you a sub-par product for your money. I think it's time for us Jeep people to figure out a way to get the Jeep brand back in the hands of an American entrepreneur. Like Elon Musk, or maybe a united group where the owner invests in the company like some Ford dealers are... Do you guys know what I am talking about? The consumer-owned dealers. The 4xE is junk. Why would Jeep put a hybrid system in a vehicle that requires a plug in to charge when you're out on the trail? The eTorque would've been a better option. I don't ever want to own a vehicle that requires a plug in for it to operate completely.

V8 Gladiator will never happen. Haven’t any of you been paying attention? The HEMI is being dropped by Jeep/Dodge for the new 3.0 straight 6. So stop asking and wishing…. it ain’t gonna happen. Plus the new 3.0 has 420hp and 468 ft lb. Probably over 475hp with an after market tune.

@@DIRTROADCRED don’t get me wrong. Trust me…..I’d love to have a 392 Gladiator and would sell my JTR for one. Jeep missed a great opportunity IMHO but I’m sure they had their reasons. But…. all this talk about how Jeep “should” honestly makes it worse knowing it’s not going to happen and it’s kinda pointless. Let’s lick our wounds and move on and talk about the new 3.0 and it’s possibilities. The 3.0 is the future like it or not. Personally…..when the teething issues are all figured out I think the 3.0 will be a killer motor.
