When these books were published as YA books the spice level is pretty high. Now that they are marketed as adult the spice level is fairly tame to some (until Silver Flames) I like to think of Thorns and Roses, Mist and Fury, and Wings and Ruin (maybe Frost and Starlight) as their own series and that A Court of Silver Flames started a spin off series. Mainly because a lot of plots wrapped up in Wings and Ruin and Silver Flames follows different POVs and sort of new storylines. As well a whole new level of spice. lol The characters of these books - inner circle - are great and I think Maas writes great character interactions and dynamics.

So far I agree! I remember the characters personalities really well and they all feel vastly different! I didn't know this was marketed as YA before! That makes sense now! Is the Throne of Glass spicy too? 🤔

I like Lucien too, and I don't hear very many people talking about him! I also agree that the second book is better than the first. The characters picked up a lot for me! I did really like how it talked about depression and I was so relieved that Maas addressed some of the controlling issues I disliked from the first book.

He's the most interesting character from the spring court so far IMO! So he needs the love! ❤️ Maas did a great job tying everything together and bringing a lot more depth to the first book with the 2nd. Can't wait to read A Court of Wings and Ruin! ❤️
