The biggest problem with enclosed malls is that they have operating hours and everything that has access from only within them has to operate only within those hours.

Good point! Honestly I don’t have the answer, but these new urban centers seem to be the hot thing right now and they may not work. I see a lot of retail concepts that seem to be struggling.

Does it matter though? Independent standing stores have the same hours as the stores enclosed within indoor malls. In addition, in an area with less than hospitable climate like Raleigh, one should wish the malls to be inviting anytime they are open. Why have less foot traffic during the cold winter months and the wretched humid summer months? The indoor malls attract people during these times making the shopping experience the same all year around.

@@vtube408 I’m not for or against, but it seems the trend here is for the new urban open air set-up w/ high density class A office space, retail and a high density of high end apartments.

Hmm, Raleigh seems to be a very spread out city and a car is a must. How about the North Carolina law (if any), for the above 65 people. (In relation to rent.)

Unless you live in housing where your rent is based on your income, there is no limit to how much rent your landlord can charge. The only way to control the rent is the lease agreement.
