Just in case anyone is confused, the AF armor doesn't unlock halfway through the level 99 quests. It unlocks at the very end of the level 99 quests, after the 4th MSQ dungeon and 2nd trial.

Um actually it is both about halfway through the level 99 quests and after the trial ("after the trial" is probably the most useful description). The level 99 quests continue well into the 6th zone.

How did anyone not know where the job gear is? The main story tells you plainly before going to the 6th zone. I'm guessing another npc or two will appear in that area with miscellaneous and tomestones that will sell raid gear and augmented tome gear.

Just double checked: the quest in EW that gets you the AF armor is the quest after the 89 dungeon and trial. I was thinking the same but nope, it's only available for the max level stuff.

Wasnt expecting you to show us the materia melder. Lol I never actually used a materia melder before, does using one give you the same melding percentages as melding yourself?

The Materia melder is for players that don’t have their crafters/ gatherers leveled. No stat difference, they just charge you to attach it to your gear. Edit: to get to the melder in solution 8 you need to use an elevator platform in the shops area.

@@one_eyeddd473 yes. You couldn't finish the story in the tempest until you completed at least one full line of the role quests. I THINK the same was true of endwalker, but I forget.

no I don't believe so, and the role quests have absolutely nothing to do with the MSQ storywise so I don't see why they would.

Usually gear is obtained from hunt currency later, after the first uncapped tomestones get chased out.

Never gear to start from Hunt currency. As the expac patches hit, the old tome gear leaves the tome vendor....it goes to the Hunt vendors.

Gotta get to max level, be 100 on one crafter and you can earn them.

@@greekmanx that's not right actually you can unlock them both from the wandering minstrel in tuliyollal after finishing the MSQ. you might be referring to the expert dungeons where one of them is unlocked in tuliyolla and the other in solution nine.

They HATE that character. It is making me laugh. They do? I’m only about halfway through but I like it a lot and so does the people in my FC. All the new areas are absolutely beautiful, music is great, story is fun and new glam is amazing as well. Sure there are always things people won’t like but I’ve heard mostly positive stuff about the expansion.

I'm already 100 with my full augmented credendum armor and accessories at ilvl 660 in every slot and max ilvl 665 relic. Unfortunately I got 100 during the lvl 95 dungeon because when I started DT MSQ, I was already 96 because of all my prep work I prepared. Looks like I have to level up a new job up to 95 to avoid MSQ wasted exp. It's sad to see the AF gear is story locked.

@@Shiirow I was expecting it to be like Shadowbringers when it prevented MSQ progress by being underleveled after completing the new dungeon so you had to keep spamming the new dungeon over and over again when your level is high enough to continue MSQ.

I actually quite like it. Between roulettes, trials and quests I got 3 jobs to 100 roughly around the time lvl 100 quests started (needed quick trial roulette to cap the 3rd one before turning in the first lvl100 quest)

Seriously, I don't even know where people get the Idea that 7.0 Is going to fix or even partially fix the problems with this game, it's not just one or two people, it's like the majority of the playerbase. If you don't like the game at all, unironically save yourself the money and quit now because at this point this game is irredeemable. There's literally no point in waiting for 7.0 to fix anything. Spoiler: they won't. Only reason to stick to this game is for secondary, non-game purposes. Let me just spoil the ending for all of you: FF14 is going to start failing, slowly, Square Enix is going to put this on maintenance mode in like 8.0 or 9.0 or something, maybe they'll try to revitalize it but fail. CBU3 has like literally no idea how to make interesting progression systems, there is not a single exploratory content or horizontal content that succeeded with the entire playerbase. They just don't know how. They also fired some devs and leads who disagreed with the vision of the game (rumor), clearly they're not open to feedback either. So don't huff the copium really, no need to wait for 7.0. It's already over.

Not every single person is gonna love everything the game puts out, some people will like some things, some others won’t and prefer other stuff. It’s like that with many other games in the world. They’re called opinions. I love this game and your comment did nothing to change my mind and I doubt it will change many others if they already love the game. If you don’t like it, good for you, stop playing it. We who like it will stay.
