Because of the pork spending they try to reign in or other more important projects they could spend the money on. So the party does not vote on the bill for the pork spending. During Covid, as a small business and as a 24/7 business caring for live animals, I had to maintain 2 payrolls, like other businesses that couldn’t close. If one person on “Team A” got Covid, Team A would go home and “Team B” would come in. We did this every 2 weeks for over a year so we would always have employees to take care of the dogs and puppies. The ERC, promised to small businesses over a year ago, was designed to help reimburse for these extra expenses. Boy, would that ERC come in handy now that everything is more expensive. Including reliable employees, if you can manage to find them. So far, not a word since I applied and I know I’m not the only one.

As a former local government employee working in the Treasurers department, I saw how ridiculous spending/budgeting/appropriations/fund accounting is. I had never voted prior to this job because I didn’t inform myself on what/who was being voted on. After working there I voted for the first time in 2016. I voted for Trump. The people in government have no concept of a bottom line because they operate as though there isn’t one. Who will hold them accountable, themselves? We need outsiders on the inside in order for anything to change. I wish sometimes I could go back to before knowing what I know now…but I can’t. So all I can do is speak up and hope people will listen.
