I'm so glad I found your channel. Your ability to make it about the "story" and not about "you" (unlike so many KZbinrs) keeps me coming back.

I have been meaning to make this comment for a couple weeks now.I must confess after watching a few videos on this channel I sat down and downloaded every video on the channel and put them on my Kindle. I watch videos in the car when my wife is shopping and in the evening if she's on the computer.I like downloading them because we lose wifi a lot here. It took a few weeks but I watched all your videos and am now caught up so to speak.Dude you have one of the best history channels out there. You present well and your footage of the sites is well done as well.I"ve always been a student of Indian Wars and when I initially read about Jack Killing Canby I shook my head and thought you fool. When i was a kid I would do the craziest shit if my buddies called me a p@$$y but Jack was a grown man. They coulda stayed in the Beds till he pulled that stunt. You showing the actual caves where he held out has made my day! Never seen that footage before.I like visiting the places where people met their end in war but being in the east California is out of range.I did pass near the beds a few years ago on an three week RV trip but by the time I was in that area I had run out of time with a five day drive home to work.I will go back some day and try and find those caves.Once again you Rock.Keep up exactly what your doing!

Excellent. Following this story, and your storytelling. It's like a serial one would read back in the day. That you can post only when you can, adds to the novelty of the history you speak of. Whether it was intent or not, your channel has its own way of drawing the viewer into the story.

Outstanding. In touch with the clash of culture and how on the edge of the clash people understand but are not understood.

Awesome video. I became fascinated with this area and story in 2019 when I wandered into the area on an impromptu road trip. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for another great piece of history on the Modoc War. All of your historical content is leaps and bounds above others that I watch and subscribe to. Don't change a thing. I like that you began with an unsuccessful trip. Hunting history, especially obscure pieces of it, is not easy. You must have the best of resources and you must be a great researcher, and I applaud your talent to find the factual information and your always excellent presentations.

Hi, Travis, happy to see you are posting another video. I think it’s neat, of course I would, that you actually go to the sites and record the events that occurred there. It sounded like you had quite an adventure locating the cave. You may recall I did a video on locating Indian Battle sites.

As someone who lives within an hour, to the west of Klamath, this story is very entertaining. Suggestion; Rouge Indian Wars, FT Lane, Table Rock Reservation .... Capt. Jack is a well-known figure around here in the Valley of the Bear Creek. Thank you for the share, I enjoyed it immensely.🤠

I live on a large ranch in Modoc county, not far from the stronghold and where the fighting took place. We have a range permit and run cattle on willow creek. I have been in that cave. Not many people go up there due to how rugged the terrain is. It is beautiful country.

I grew up about 50 miles to the southwest in Lookout. Used to go to Klamath Falls shopping and have driven by that area on 139 innumerable times. Never heard about or had any idea this is where Cpt. Jack was hiding out. Very interesting.

@@TheStoryOutWest it was called spirit of the eagle. I really enjoy westerns and didn't realize it was a romance novel until I was already invested in the story, but it was still a good book. They used the real names, and based off your videos they kept it pretty accurate

@@TheStoryOutWest Josh is very good people! His humor cracks me up and his contentis amazing! I'm 56 yrs old originally from California. Been a Raiders fan since I was 5 years old. I've lived in in Vegas for 27 years and never thought I'd see a huge Raiders sign outside my place of employment or their practice site a couple miles away. It's pretty cool. I'm also a huge Golden Knights fan! Go Raiders! Go Knights!
