This book scared me when I was a kid and this is infinitely more horrifying even as an adult

I remember my mom reading the book to me so many times. The movie really changed my life. After 60 years for the book and 15 years for the movie . Spike jones and the rest of the cast thank you .

I remember reading this book as a kid in the late 60's. Watching the movie was like watching childhood fairy tales brought to life.

I read this book in the 3rd. grade (1968-9) after I grew board with the Curious George and Clifford the big red dog books. I asked the librarian if she had any BETTER books and "Where the Wild things are" is what she recommended. My very first FANTASY Book and I NEVER gave up the love of the genera.

Thanks for writing this. I was debating what age it's appropriate for, and I think I'll wait to show it to my eldest and watch it myself.

why is everyone saying this was a scary movie? I mostly felt sadness. But somehow I still enjoyed it. I guess its because I can relate to his childhood experiences.

I loved the book this was based on when I was very little. The movie version of that book gives me such nostalgia, though. And can you believe it's approximately fifteen years since it came out?
