The cup of hot water can be drunk if you want - it's just hot / boiled water - nothing unusual about it. Some people choose it to rinse their cutlery / bowls, using it not because it isn't clean already but because in some places when they've washed the dishes, the dishes can still have some *some* residue/soapy taste of washing up liquid/detergent still on them. It's a carry over from when places had to wash 100 plates/cutlery etc all at once and dunked them a big soapy container etc. But that's increasingly rare these days as most places will water rinse everything afterwards - just depends on the place.

As someone who grew up in Hong Kong, I drink that cup of water. It is clean. BTW, for the blue potato milk tea, it should be taro, they just don't have a proper translation lol.

I was told I could drink the water I was just very confused as to why it was boiling 😂. Did I miss any good places you know of?

Sham Sui Po is the place for cheap and good food. I personally San Lung's curry rice, Chow Kee's lard noodle, The Park by Years's vegaterian food and Tomato C Hing's tomato noodle soup.

I could never get a handle of it. Some places gave you near-boiling water to drink. Other places gave lukewarm tea to wash forks in

@@lukehobbs3177 You can disinfect to feel cleaner though the utensils should be clean already or drink. Either way is fine.

@@lukehobbs3177 hmmm... I'd say the Japanese stone grill steak houses. They serve you a rare steak on a stone grill and you grill it to your liking on the table. Also includes an all you can eat salad bar. Prices are a lot cheaper than regular steak houses.

well from those i visit i get usually red tea and i drink them. We usually rinse the utensils in more traditional Chinese restaurant especially places serve dim sum
@catmi30687 ай бұрын
Wow The food looks delicious. My relatives like to take me to (大快活)Fairwood for breakfast everyday when I was there and once for dinner. For dimsum, I went to eat after 2p or 3p don’t remember the exact, the prices are like half price at most of the tea houses. I only had afternoon dimsum once.
