Great nuggets. Funny D how you caught his “invitation” to come to Utah’s 5/10 market as I did. Great insight and interview. He’s got a great logo so great job to him and all his hard work. I’ve Been in trades for years but first year in roofing and yes it does take some time to learn; product knowledge, properly building a job with good profit margins, installation oversight, media content creation, lead generation, jumping all the insurance hoops, and so much more…. Some days I feel I got this but most days I’m like, “holy crap it never ends” haha. So thankful to your generosity in sharing the knowledge you have acquired. Keep up great work. 😊

Damn! I just passed both exams here in Florida currently getting my insurance in order. We are a 10/10 for cut throat competition. You roll up to a lead only to find 3-4 wrapped $80k trucks in front of the customers house, the client literally set up a desk in his open garage. He’s interviewing a roofer while another roofer is standing patiently with is his paperwork in hand at the edge of the driveway, another roofer is waiting outside his truck… I’m not exaggerating, I took photos of this lol. Btw, the roof was about 14 sq in a bad neighborhood… The customer called me back 4 months later to see if I could do any better on the price, in other words, he hadn’t even made a decision 4 months later… Anyways, enough of my rant, thank you for your videos, this one was especially timely for me. I love that you offer advice from 0-30 years experience you’ve got a video for that!

I’m in my first year as well and I’ve learned you have to put your name out there. You have to knock on some doors. Build a strong foundation (strong branding, excellent warranties, excellent products, and manage every project you do and make sure the work is done 100% correctly) And keep learning every day! Keep growing. And don’t underbid jobs just because customers are cheap! Treat the good customers like they are your family and they will refer you and sing your praises in reviews.

Next year will most likely be my first year taking over my father roofing company but he got rid of all of his guys a while back so it's just been him and I since then. Main question that I'd love for you to answer is how in the hell do I find good reliable workers to grow a crew?? How many do I start with and so forth? Because I can't wrap my head around how to go about this and figure it out

Best advice I have for you is find good subcontractor who is hungry for work and give them your first few jobs. Manage it, be there when they install. If they do good work pay them on time and repeat. Many good crews are looking for good companies to work for.

I’m in my first year right now! I lost money on my 4th job! I had no clue what a ACV policy was. It took me a solid 10 projects to actually understand the whole process. Also I’m in about a 8.8/10 cut throat market haha!

The best thing to do is vote democrat then you don't have to work. You can just sleep and get paid. Work is racist.

I know the host of this show hates hearing the word, but I sell close to 1M a year as a door knocker in storm zipcodes, not covering deductibles. Hiring someone who knows how to do this is also a good way to get business in whatever year of business.

YOu make 1 mil or you get a percent of 1 mil?
@seangoff95783 жыл бұрын
@@joemonroe9456 sell. That's the total value of jobs sold. That's before supplements so there's a good chance I'm at or past 1M. I earn only a percentage of that but the point is that storm chasing and doorknocking can be a productive way for any company to generate sales if its done professionally.
