Thanks Angie, great sources. A hint about photos, taking a picture of the picture (no flash or glare) will be much sharper than a scanner, most scanners don’t have great dpi numbers like the camera.

I never recommend using screen shots. Click through to the original source and see if it is available for download.

Hi Angie! I am stuck! I have a Cricut and have used svg’s… I recently bought the Epson ET-4700 and turned it into a sublimation printer. I am having a hard time once I find a file. If I download it somewhere, it isn’t giving me the option to extract it all so I can work with it… what am I doing wrong? Thank you so much!!!

Depends on what file type it is downloading as. They may already be PNG files so you just open and print.

Yes! Definitely! I would save it out as a PNG file.

Hi, new to sublimation. If u can print any image on a sublimation printer, how come places like design bundles have certain section just for “sublimation” downloads? Why aren’t they just with the other downloads?

They make a section for images that are designed for sublimation. However, you can take other images and alter them to work or fit.

Can svg’s be printed for sublimation or only png’s and jpg’s? I’m trying to decide if I. Should purchase the epson eco tank 2720 or 2800 for converting, anyone have any opinions on either of those?

PNG files work best. But JPG can be used. Usually an SVG has a PNG and JPG option when you purchase that can be printed.

I learned yesterday that Apple now is saving iPhone/iPad photos in a new compression format called heic or heif. You can convert them back to jpg format,on a Mac, or turn off the compression format on your iPhone and iPad entirely by going into Settings - Camera - Formats - Most Compatible. You cannot upload an heic photo to Design Space nor was I able to email one. You can right click on on of those photos if you saved it to files on a Mac, but I have not found a way to do it on an iPad or iPhone. Turning a 1.2 Mb photo into a 23 Kb one is not necessarily a good thing except when it comes to storage in the iCloud.

Hi your video had great information and answered a huge question I had but now I have another question, once I hav ex downloaded the image how do I transfer from downloads to design space? Are they zip files like some cricut designs/fonts?

If they are zip files, unzip them then upload to Design Space.

Hi Angie does it matter what model ecotank for the sublimation ink I recently bought epson ET 2850 and ordered the hippo sub ink and it didn’t dawn on me to see what models the ink is for so does that really matter if so guess I’ll be ordering different ink but hopefully not

As long as the ecotank printer uses 4 colors, you are good!

Hi Angie, Can you do normal printing on an epson ecotank converted for sublimation printing, ie printing regular documents etc. Almost went ahead & purchased one & the ink, paper etc then had a light bulb moment . Everything is so much dearer here in Australia & can't afford nor want to own 2 printers. Need to know as this is a major expense. TIA

Sublimation designs are best as PNG files. JPEG or JPG files will work. SVG files can be printed but usually have to be flattened by a program to be a printable file.

I'm brand new as well. Why is it when I print a PNG on my sublimation printer it doesn't allow me to take up the whole sublimation paper? It prints in the middle of the paper wasting a lot of paper. I want a full 8x10 print. Pls help.

You don't need a vinyl cutter at all for sublimation.

Angie, I'm converting an Epson 8550 to sublimation. Its a 6-color printer that can be converted using a six-ink set. Do you have a recommendation on which ink maker to use? Am debating a couple of options like Cosmos ink but was looking for a solid recommendation.

I know this sounds like a dumb question. But are there any courses for developing creativity in regards to Cricut and sublimation? I absolutely hated art at school and thought it was boring, but it wasn't until I got into certain subjects that I am passionate about that I have gained a newfound appreciation for it. This is an off subject question. Can I log out of my current cricut design space account, click create ID, .,. create it, add information, add machines. Will my old account still be there when I go to log back in to it? (2 accounts is what I am wanting) I have a new machine & I have been using a friend's login with her explorer. I do not want to lose any projects and still have access to them but I want my own account.

But what I think I am understanding the old account and ALL images & projects will be there like normal even when I create another ID. I will slowly save all projects on my external hard drive but till then I need 2 accounts.

Yes. They will all be there. What I was going to say is that if you have projects with just Design Space images and fonts, you can click the share button and send a link to yourself. Open that link with your new account and save.
