Thank you for watching!! Since making this video I’ve learned more about public domain art and printing it. A key point I hadn’t realized at the time is that many files in the public domain are small and will result in poor quality prints when trying to print larger sizes. Etsy sellers often have tools to help them enhance the quality for better resolution when printing. There are definitely still some free gems out there with larger files sizes, so if you’re looking to go the free route there is some hope just know this is a potential issue you could run into. I hope you still received some valuable information from this video!

There’s a lot of artists who paint in that traditional realism style and some even offer printables. I actually offer a sliding scale to my collectors who have fallen on hard times. Talk to us artists we’re pretty reasonable ❤

Hi. I just watched your KZbin video on printing digital vintage art. Great job explaining the process. I have used Finer works before but I don't know if I used the correct fine paper. I did choose giclee You mentioned two of your prints the landscape and the white floral with black background had a textured finish like brush strokes or like a canvas texture on the floral print. I am wondering what fine paper did you choose (the list has so many choices) with the giclee printing?

What are your favorite search terms for the public domain site?
@KrystaMeeker2 жыл бұрын
I keep it fairy simple with “landscape” or “portrait” usually adding time period or describing words such as “moody”. There are sooo many to sift through but some real gems! 😍

i was also trying to find an answer to that because when i looked i didnt have as great of results as the one shown in the video
@KrystaMeeker2 жыл бұрын
@@menanq1995 Lots of trial and error for search terms. Another little tip is you can go to Etsy to find some you like and do an image search on Google to find the name/artist of the painting, then search for it on the public domain sites and you may find it on there for free!

Love your style, it’s very similar to my own! We’re did you find the Van Gogh portrait and is there a name of it to help me search? I would love to add this one to my home, I just have to find the file and have printed. Thanks for your recommendation, they were very helpful. I wish you much luck as you move forward with your channel…I’m also have a YT channel…I know it’s a lot of work, but very rewarding. Best of luck with you as you grow, know you’ll do very well. Aww, thank you so much for the kind and encouraging words, I really appreciate it!! 🥰 The portrait of Van Gogh was done by another artist by the name of John Peter Russell, I’m pretty sure you can find it that way! I had purchased mine from Etsy prior to knowing about the archives but I know this one is a public domain image! The only difference I’ve noticed is I think some Etsy sellers do a little color grading to them, as an artist I’m sure you could modify it to your liking!! Hope that helps! ❤️

Thank you so much!

About how much do the prints run
@KrystaMeeker2 жыл бұрын
Hi Rachel, they range depending on the size and type of paper you print on. An 8x10 is typically around $5 on a Giclee print from MPIX. The large one I show in the video of Van Gogh cost around $40ish I want to say but I also used a discount code towards it. You could also get large images printed on vinyl signs and frame them, I’ve seen others do that and it looks great and can be cost effective for large prints. Hope that helps! ☺️

Great video! Public domain sites are not all created equal, some of them are easier to use than others. Can you share some links to public domain sites that you use?
@bonitacheng6574 Жыл бұрын
One thing you have not mentioned is that those digital artwork offered in public domain site do not specify the actual size of the print with available resolution. I did have experience downloading a file that doesn't have sufficient resolution to fit the size of the frame. Hope you can give more advice about that. Thanks 😊
@KrystaMeeker Жыл бұрын
You’re totally right! It’s funny you mention it because I discuss this in the video I have coming out tomorrow! I hadn’t run into issue with it at the time of this video. I will say, there isn’t really a solve unless you invest in a program that can enhance the quality so that you can enlarge. That is another benefit to buying from Etsy, they do that for you! ☺️
